FG Set To Introduce E-prison System

The Minister of Interior, Mr Abba Moro on Tuesday said the ministry was planning to introduce the e-prison system in order to put an end to incessant prisons breaks.
The Minister said this when a delegation of the Human Rights Commission paid a courtesy visit on him at the ministry in Abuja. And that the ministry was committed to making Nigerian prisons among the best in the world through the rehabilitation and construction of new prisons.
” We are committed to make the prisons one of the best from structure to infrastructure. The ministry inherited a prisons system that was nearly comatose hence it has taken steps to rehabilitate prisons .
” Presently new structures are under construction in various states including Yobe, Ibadan, Kwara, Nnewi among others and before the end of this administration this projects will be commissioned”
He said that President Goodluck Jonathan had approved the construction of 200 bed spaces each in Nasarawa and Suleja prisons to improve the living condition of prisoners.

Twitter Adds Video Tweets, Group Messaging Features

Twitter is rolling out two new features to its messaging app. Users will now be able to edit and upload 30-second videos and share private group messages with up to 20 participants.
Previously users had to sign up on Vine – a video service acquired by Twitter – to be able to post videos in Tweets. Now users can directly upload videos taken in the Twitter app onto their timeline.

Videos uploaded directly have a 30-second limit, as against 6 seconds on Vine. This could possibly spell the demise of Vine, though it has managed to create a niche for itself in the short video messaging space.
Also users can now use the Direct Messaging feature to hold private group chats within the app. Unlike the original DM feature were you recipient has to be following you, group DMs allow everyone within the group chat, as long as they’re added to the group by someone they follow.
The purpose of adding these new features is quite obvious – get more users to engaged each other within the app. “Twitter observers” who might want to discuss topics that matter to them are often discouraged by cyber bullying and other privacy concerns that plague the open internet. With group DMs, users will now be able to read (or watch) Tweets and then follow up the conversation in private with trusted acquaintances. The idea is to discourage users from continuing the conversation outside Twitter into other messaging platforms.

The new features have begun rolling out in trickles to select users, beginning today, and to other users (Android and iOS) in the “coming days” the social media site said in their official blog.

Cambridge University provides more details on Buhari’s WASC results

The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, UCLES, now Cambridge Assessment, has provided further details on the WASC,results presented by Muhammadu Buhari, APC presidential candidate.
In a new post on its website, the university confirmed result grades for the examination in 1961 were issued in numbers, not letters, as suggested by critics of Mr. Buhari who have dismissed the results he presented as forged.
According to Cambridge, “Examination results were classed in grades from 1 to 9”.
“1, 2,3,4,5 & 6 indicate a Pass with Credit; 7 & 8 indicate a Pass; 9 indicate a Failure,” the school said.
Results tendered by Mr. Buhari shows he had credits in English Language, Geography, Health Science, Hausa Language; failed in Mathematics and Woodwork, and had a pass in Literature in English.
In its post, Cambridge said for candidates to qualify for its certificate in 1961, they needed to pass English, and not necessarily Mathematics.
This caused intense controversy over whether Mr. Buhari, completed his secondary education.
