Rev. King's church blames his death sentence on witches, wizard

The validation of death sentence on Chukwuemeka Ezeugo popularly known as Reverend King is the handiwork of witches and wizards, according to his church members.
The General overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly (CPA) who was convicted of killing a church member will die by hanging, so says Nigerian apex court, the Supreme Court.
But despite the verdict on Friday, February 26, members of the CPA church believes that Rev. King will be spared and return to join the church, The Nation reports.
The validation of death sentence on Rev King is the handiwork of witches & wizards, according to members of Christian Praying Assembly.
At the first church service after the Supreme Court decision, Pastor Ifeanyi King, said in his sermon: “Our G.O. (General Overseer) the most holiness, Rev King, is coming back. He said he would come back and we believe the words of his mouth. We believe his report that he is coming back. Everything happening now we know is the handiwork of witches and wizard. Soon a new story will emerge.
“Whether people realise it or not, everybody now knows his holiness, our G.O. Rev King. The front pages of newspapers are flooded with his name. People are yearning to read about him in the social media. I can confirm to you that by all these, a lot of people have become endeared to him. Our Daddy G.O. shall live forever for us in Jesus name.”
For every word Pastor Ifeanyi King uttered, there was a chorus of Amen by the congregation.
They sang hymns and danced to mark “the birthday of the G.O.” Rev King death sentence was confirmed on his birthday last Friday.
Rev King was sentenced to death in 2007 for the burning to death of a member of his church in 2006.

Boko Haram no longer a threat to Nigeria – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday boasted that Boko Haram insurgents no longer poses a threat to his government’s development programmes despite the groups renewed attacks in some parts of the country.
Buhari made the assertion while speaking at a bilateral meeting he had with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hammad Al-Thani, and contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The President said since his inception as President in May 2015, the Boko Haram sect has been systematically decimated though admitting that the group’s activities had led to loss of many lives and displacement of innocent people in the country.
“Nigeria is a victim of terrorism. It is with heavy heart that I stand before you and say activities of Boko Haram have led to loss of many lives and displacement of innocent people in our dear nation.
“We, however, take pride to inform you that since our coming to power, Boko Haram has been systematically decimated and are in no position to cause serious threat to our development programmes.
“The conflicts in Yemen and Syria with their attendant humanitarian crisis need genuine international effort to solve.

“Nigeria as a peace-loving country identifies with the State of Qatar in all her peace efforts in the world to end terrorist activities.

Photos: Governor Ambode wears school uniform as he visits his Alma Mater, FGC Warri

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday attended the Golden Jubilee grand reunion of FGC, Warri, his alma mater.

The governor said:
“Indeed, my becoming a governor can be attributed to what I gained and learnt from this school. We must come together, all of us to ensure that the vision of the establishment of the school must not die.
So it is a great honour to all of us to return here after decades and celebrate this 50th anniversary. We are benefiting from the vision planted years ago.
I want to assure the principal that we are going to bring back the good old days of this school. I wish all the students well and pray that you all be better and more successful than all of us here today.
I like to say a big welcome to seniors and juniors. One great thing about this school is that no matter what you become in life your senior remains your senior.”

Make-up giant Mac Cosmetics in the past couple of years have tapped famous stars like Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and more for lipstick lines.

She had this to say regarding the shade she went for;
“I wanted a lipstick that would be universal, suited to more people, and was an everyday lipstick, not just a high-glam, once-in-a-while kind of lipstick. I like a little colour on my lips, not a lot during the day. And this rosy nude is the colour I’ve gone to. To be honest, I want people to use it every day so they have to buy more. I want to raise a lot of money. It’s very simple.”
The lipstick will be available for sale from April 2016… Will you be getting one of these ladies?

Buhari makes U-turn, Says he won't pay N5,000 stipend promised to the unemployed

In a very surprising development, President Buhari has stated that he will not honour his pledge to grant every unemployed Nigerian N5000.

He revealed that he’s not too inclined to give out the N5,000 monthly stipend promised by his party- the All Progressives Congress, during the last general election campaign

Whilst speaking in Saudi Arabia as he continued his visit to the Middle East over the weekend, Buhari said he would rather focus on funding the construction of infrastructure, as well as education, agriculture and mining to create employment opportunities for able bodied young men.
“This largesse N5,000 for the unemployed, I have got a slightly different priority,” the president said.
“I would rather do the infrastructure, the school and correct them and empower agriculture, mining so that every able bodied person can go and get work instead of giving N5,000 to those who don’t work.”

10,000 traffic cameras to be installed in Lagos state

Lagos state government has unveiled its plan to install traffic cameras around the state in a bid to ensure strict obedience to traffic laws.
The Lagos state Commissioner for Science and Technology, Olufemi Odubiyi in a chat with YNaija at the YTech100 event at Social Media Week Lagos, revealed that plans have already been concluded by the state to install traffic cameras for better traffic monitoring.
The Commissioner also said that to reduce the heavy gridlock that has now come to be the trademark of the metropolitan city, the government is working on introducing other means of transport.
He noted that congestion is what causes traffic and therefore the government has resolved to address the issue.
He said “Under the smart city project, there is the e-transport. It is congestion that causes traffic and to deal with congestion you have to look at other means of transport.”
“The state would use technology to coordinate the service delivery among these means of transport to create a routine so that people can schedule their movement. You can easily plan when you know exactly how long it would take you to move from one point to the other.”
“We are deploying 10,000 traffic cameras within the state”, he added.
“These are cameras that have facial recognition and also have the ability to recognise car plate numbers. The government does not have to run after habitual offenders because they will be caught.”

Nobody can hang my father – Rev King’s godson

In spite of the death sentence slammed on the General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly (CPA), Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo (aka Rev. King), one of his diehard godsons, Austin King, has said that it is humanly impossible to hang the condemned cleric.
Austin made this claim in an exclusive interview in Ajao Estate, Lagos, Saturday.
The claim comes as a swift reaction to the Supreme Court’s affirmation of the death sentence by hanging earlier handed down by the Lagos State High Court and affirmed by the Court of Appeal.
Austin said: “I am holding unto what my daddy told us three to four years ago, that he ‘has not come back to this world to be hanged by anybody again except he hangs himself’! I joined this church as a little child; I am now 33 and married. I have no reason to doubt my daddy because I can testify that many of his prophesy concerning my personal circumstances that have come to pass.”
