It’s pathetic that female footballers are labelled lesbians — Cynthia Uwak

Cynthia Uwak, an ex-Super Falcons’ player who has been named the African Woman Footballer of the Year twice is angry that female footballers are often labelled lesbians.

In an interview with Tribune newspaper, the football star said: “I love my body and I’m proud to show it off. I think it should be some sort of motivation for a lot of people to work out and live healthy. Some like it and some don’t, but in all, I am doing what I want and what makes me happy.”That is all that matters.”
“I get approached by guys. For those that can’t approach sportswomen, maybe they are only intimidated. Guys approach us and those that can’t; I really don’t know what their excuse can be. I find it really surprising when people say many female footballers are lesbians.”
“The question is; “who have they caught in the act? What proof do they have to come up with such conclusion? I believe everyone is always linked to one thing or the other, that’s the only way the world can go round. But saying that female footballers are lesbians is rather pathetic. You can’t just label people based on assumptions.

Sierra Leone Orders Three-Day Lock Down To Battle Ebola

The president of Sierra Leone has an idea on how to curtail the spread of Ebola: Get everybody to stay inside.
President Ernest Bai Koroma on Saturday launched a campaign called "Zero Ebola," in which almost all Sierra Leoneans are supposed to stay indoors March 27-29 and from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on three consecutive Saturdays -- April 4, 11 and 18.
"The campaign will provide an opportunity for communities to be directly involved in the drive to zero cases, to reflect and to pray for the eradication of this disease from our country," he said in a statement.
Sierra Leona tried a three-day lockdown last September in what was primarily an informational campaign, with volunteers going door-to-door to talk with residents about the virus. In August, the Liberian government locked down one of the poorest neighborhoods in the capital of Monrovia in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus. The move resulted in riots.
No commercial activity is supposed to occur during the upcoming lockdown, Koroma said. Because March 29 is Palm Sunday, church services will be allowed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Health workers, journalists and public safety officers are exempted.

Emeka Ike gives Ibinabo Fiberesima 24 hours to vacate the AGN’s presidential seat.

Nollywood actor/producer, Emeka Ike has reacted to the court order which was given for the removal of Ibinabo Fiberesima, as president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

The actor, who has always made it very clear that he was against Ibinabo parading herself as the president of AGN stated that he has given Ibinabo 24 hours to apologise to the guild and vacate her seat or face being dragged to court again for contempt.

See his statement below:

“She has not appealed. Do you know what an appeal of a judgment means? The judgment was given on Monday and I ask, ‘has she received a copy of the judgment she wants to appeal at the moment.Don’t insult my integrity.
Before you make any appeal, you have to write papers and take the papers to the right places and you make an appeal with that. If you don’t have the judgment papers in your hand, how do you appeal it?
And when you appeal, before you get the court’s attention, you must serve it, you must give a notice of it for at least 29 days in a newspaper. There are ways things are done logically on issues like this.
It is not for you do things anyhow. This is a very sensitive case. You are dealing with an A-list person. Your mindset is your mindset, it should not affect the other.
I give her (Ibinabo) 24 hours to tender an apology to the guild, 24 hours for talking about appealing this case, if not, I will serve her court papers and her cohorts; I am not joking on this matter.
I am not using thugs, I am not using OPC, I am not using any cult members, I am not using the police, I am applying the Nigerian justice system and that is the civilized way of doing things.”

FG plans arrest of Tinubu, Buhari, others, APC alleges

APC during  the weekend, alleged that PDP-led Federal Government had perfected plans to jail  its national leader, Senator Bola Tinubu; its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari; and other major financiers of the party on trumped-up charges before the start of elections next Saturday.

The party alleged that the plan, which was leaked to it was aimed at decapitating the opposition and conferred undue advantage on
the ruling party in the elections.

The PDP, in its statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, also described the allegation by the APC as lacking in decency, advising the party to focus on issues and how to unite its alleged tattered membership.

National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who addressed a press conference on behalf of the party, further alleged that it was the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that the Goodluck Jonathan-led government would unleash on the APC leaders.

Singer Waje Says Her Recent Weight Loss Is Due To Depression

Lately, Nigerian singer Waje has lost some weight, and just incase you are wondering what’s responsible for her recent weight loss, the singer told Punch in a recent interview that it's due to depression.
‘I reduced my weight because I watched my performance on screen one time and I was shocked. When you are on screen, you add ten pounds and there was a time I was performing and it was shown live. I did not like the comments on twitter and it made me depressed for a while. I had to make a decision if I wanted to enjoy life and call myself a fat person or I could live a better lifestyle. As a female brand, I am a visual brand and when you look good, people tend to take you more seriously. You also feel smarter, so I had to start thinking in that direction’.
The weight loss was intentional and the reason was because I wanted to live a healthier lifestyle. I just want to reduce my food intake, especially junk foods. My stylist is hoping I get slimmer because it is easier to style slim people. For slim people, you can get clothes off the rack but for people like me, we have to make the clothes most of the time,’ she said.
‘Because of my new lifestyle and weight loss, I had to give up some foods. I love ice cream and solid foods especially starch and banga soup but I had to give them all up. I try not to take too much of sugar because I love biscuit and chocolate but God has changed my life,’ she said.
