If Buhari spends all his time pursuing looters, the majority of us who didn't steal will suffer - Pst Ashimolowo

Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has counselled President Muhammadu Buhari against expending his energy and time on trying to catch treasury looters.
The Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre, KICC, said Buhari should inculcate the practice of the Pareto’s Principle in governance, where just 20 per cent of governance time is dedicated to the past.
Ashimolowo said ‘it will take forever for majority of Nigerians to see changes’ if the Federal Government fails to focus more on the citizenry.
Speaking to journalists at the 10th edition of the annual widows New Year party in Ode-Omu, Osun State, he said: “President Buhari is a man of great integrity, who wants the best for the country. But if he spends all his time pursuing looters, the majority of us who did not steal will suffer.”
“Therefore, he must use the Parento’s Principle to approach governance. If you have your eyes permanently on the rear view mirror, you cannot drive fast. The past deserves just 20 per cent attention.”

Photos: Ojukwu's Niece, 4 others arrested for drug trafficking

Ijeoma Ojukwu, niece to late politician, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu, among others were arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Tuesday.
They were nabbed over the importation of 2.24 kilogrammes of cocaine from Brazil.
The spokesman for NDLEA, Ofoyeju Mitchell released a statement to this effect, saying: “The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is currently interrogating one of its operatives over alleged conspiracy to import cocaine from Brazil. The investigation which commenced after an abandoned luggage from Brazil was found to contain 2.24kg of cocaine at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos had already led to the arrest of five suspects.”
Among the list of suspects are Ali Bala Adamu, a staff of the NDLEA, Ijeoma Ojukwu, a niece to late politician, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and three others Victor Umeh, Uche Igwelo and Egbuche Fidelis Osiita.
This would be NDLEA first drug seizure this year, according to the commander at the Lagos airport, Mr. Ahmadu Garba.
“This is the first drug seizure for the year. On December 28, 2015, a bag with a tag bearing Agina Fidelis Ejike was abandoned at the arrival hall during inward screening of passengers on an Emirates flight. On January 1, 2016, one Egbuche Fidelis Osita came with authority letter mandating him to collect the bag. In the process, some white powdery substance weighing 2.24kg that tested positive for cocaine was discovered. The drug was neatly packed in four parcels concealed in false bottom of four female handbags. Further investigation led to more arrests.”
Garba said that the agency’s investigation revealed that 48-year-old Ojukwu is a member of an international drug trafficking organization and owns a restaurant in Brazil.
“She allegedly conspired with other suspects to collect the abandoned bag from the airport with the intent to recover the 2.24kg of cocaine. She was said to have contacted a staff of the NDLEA, Ali Bala on how to facilitate the collection of the bag at the airport. The Agency also impounded the Acura MDX vehicle that the suspects drove to the airport” he added.
Starting with Ijeoma, the suspects in confessional statements, claimed that they are innocent.
“I have a restaurant in Brazil where I sell African food. I am from Anambra State and I am married with three children. My brother came from Brazil and could not find his bag. It was in the process of trying to get the bag out that we were arrested.”
36-year-old Uche Igwelo, a graduate of Public Administration, said she was invited by Ijeoma to assist in collecting the bag.
“I sell kitchen utensil and I am married with a child. Ijeoma met me that I should help her to collect a bag at the airport. We were trying to get the bag when NDLEA officers arrested us” Mrs. Igwelo said.
Egbuche Fidelis Osita, a 37-year-old student said all he was asked to do was pick up the bag at the Lagos airport.
“I am a 400 level student studying English Education at the Ekiti State University. My friend Victor Umeh was the person that asked me to help in claiming a luggage at the airport. We all drove to the airport where I was given a letter of authority and other documents of the passenger that came with the luggage. In the process of trying to collect the bag I was arrested. This is all I know about this incident,” he stated.
Chairman of the NDLEA, Roli Bode-George spoke on the arrest saying: “The NDLEA is following every lead professionally and will exploit more opportunities towards getting every culprit arrested. We have also expanded the scope of our investigation and everyone involved in this illegal importation of narcotics shall be diligently prosecuted. The Agency will continue to uphold the rule of law and dislodge drug trafficking organisations in the country.”
“NDLEA will not compromise its high standard of operation. We are working very hard with international and local collaborators in projecting the image of Nigeria in drug control programmes.
Any attempt by any person or group of persons to sabotage this great achievement shall be resisted. Probity and strict law enforcement shall be sustained.”

Man discovers his unborn twin growing in his abdomen

A teenager has shockingly discovered his unborn twin in his abdomen after going to the hospital for stomach pain.
The 18-year-old man, Narendra Kumar was shocked to learn that his unborn twin grew inside his abdomen for 18 years. He didn’t know about his condition until he started suffering severe stomach pains which lasted for months.
He was rushed to the hospital after vomiting seriously.
During medical examination, doctors discovered 5 pounds of bones, hair and teeth, had formed in the abdomen of the young man.
Kumar was diagnosed with a rare condition that develops during pregnancy of twins, in which a fetus enters the other through the umbilical cord and ends up living there as a parasite.
Doctors at the Swaroop Narayan Hospital, told the teenager that the parasite had been living and growing in his body since birth.

Police officers to go for ‘psychiatric and psychological tests’ – IG

Henceforth, Nigerian police officers would be compelled to go for yearly psychiatric and psychological tests, says the Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase.
The IG also said fresh police recruits would be made to undergo the psychiatric test before being accepted into the force.
Speaking on Tuesday at the validation meeting on the Nigeria Police Force Health Policy draft at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, the Police IG expressed worry over the rate of extra-judicial killings by police officers.

“Sometimes I get very worried when police officers shoot innocent civilians and I keep thinking something can be done. Now we are thinking of taking our officers through psychiatric and psychological tests before we recruit them. Even those who are already with us, we are going to make it an annual thing.”
“The job we do is very stressful, sometimes not everyone can take the heat in the kitchen, and if you cannot take the heat, you don’t go to the kitchen. So, we are working to see how we can ameliorate the trauma they go through.
“I know in the UK (United Kingdom) that if a police officer is involved in shooting, he is removed from core police duties until he is debriefed and he goes through some tests to ensure that he is fit enough to handle firearms. These are what we are thinking of bringing into the system.
“Also, we are planning to build trauma centres because most of our officers go through a lot of trauma. And we should be concerned about their mental well-being. I know the type of pressure officers go through.”

Last night, Dammy Krane took to Twitter and accused Wizkid of stealing his songs, but the Hypertek Digital label artiste has not managed to earn the sympathies of Nigerians. Instead, he is being dragged by Nigerians on twitter for some of the claims he made.

According to his tweets,

“I have a problem with fake ass people. I always try and be real and let things go but I will address something first! This industry nigga has been trying it for a while. Stole a couple of my stuff but I didn’t talk.”
“Wizkid is a bitch nigga,” he continued, “I was about to loose it and fuck him up but they even had to beg me, no time to form,” and then he added, “I am the streets!!#industreet#. My fathers name is “surulere” my mothers name is “Kemi Oshodi” ask around, I hold street for pocket,” he concluded.

Although Wizkid is yet to respond to Krane, most Twitter users are upset about the claims that he owns the ‘streets’, and they are making sure to air their opinions.
