Dakore Akande Shares Secret Of Her Successful Marriage

Popular Nollywood actress who is married to the son of a billionaire has shared the secret of her successful marriage.
Dakore Akande is married to Olumide Akande, son of billionaire, Harry Akande. The couple have two daughters.
Dakore, in an interview withmagazine, said she has learnt from her parents’ mistakes to make her marriage of five years, strong.
She said: “Yes, marriage is under siege but through a lot of prayer, joint prayer, my husband and I, we make a point of duty to always pray together no matter the schedule. We just identify that God is our mainstay and that He is the third cord in our strand. I realized that whenever we start to deviate from that is when trouble would come.
“God instituted marriage and the only way it is going to work is if we tap into that source, which is God. And apart from that, it has to do with the encouragement of both families because the two families have to encourage each other. We do have our challenges, don’t get me wrong. My parents split up after seventeen years of marriage. I know what that means. I have that at the back of my mind. We did marriage counseling and that still helps.”

CBN orders banks to reduce ATM withdrawals from N150,000 to N60,000 per day

Following plan to stabilize the Nigerian currency, banks have trim down the daily withdrawal limit on Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) and foreign transactions on all existing Naira debit cards (ATM cards).
According to the new arrangement by the banks, all ATMs that were hitherto enabled for domestic and foreign transactions have been restructured to limit Naira cash withdrawal at ATMs to N60,000 per day while foreign currency is $300 per day. Hitherto, the domestic withdrawal limit was N150,000 per day.
Also, spending limits on POS/eCommerce (online shopping) have been pegged at $300 (about N60,000) per day. Before this, the limit was N2 million per day.
The new arrangement has separated traditional ATM from MasterCard credit card where the former has now been deactivated and can no longer be used for transactions abroad.
CBN’s statement says: “The CBN once again advises individuals that wish to source foreign currency for such eligible transactions to approach their banks with their legitimate demand as the CBN has made adequate provisions of foreign currency for all such legitimate and eligible purposes. Furthermore, holders of naira denominated debit and credit cards shall continue to have access to the use of their cards at ATMs in any part of the world but subject to the annual limit of $50,000. ATM withdraws shall continue to be a maximum of $300 per day.”

Obasanjo: I remain a ‘partyless’ Nigerian… for now

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that he would never be a partisan politician.
Obasanjo made the comment yesterday when he received Kogi State governor, Capt. Idris Wada, a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governor, at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
OBJ, as fondly called, however said he would continue to contribute his quota to nation-building.
“Everybody is welcome but they must be with good leadership traits, and genuine intention to improve the country,” he said.
“We should understand first that, not the party makes the person, but the person makes the party. It is who you are that you bring into the party. Though, for now I remain a ‘partyless’ Nigerian, but, I will continue to welcome any Nigerian with good leadership qualities.
“It does not matter which party you are, either, PDP, APC, Labour, APGA any party at all, as long as you a are committed, sincere and a purposeful leader, I am ready for you.
“And that is what our brother is doing. I pray that this country will never be short of this type of people,” Obasanjo said.

Man Stabs Girlfriend to Death after Marathon Sex (Photo)

A 30-year-old man, Richard Effiok, on Monday confessed to stabbing his girlfriend after three rounds of sex.

Effiok, who identified his deceased girlfriend as Bassey Udoh (23), said the incident happened on May 22, 2015, at Nelson Mandela Street in Calabar, Cross River State.

The suspect made the confessional statement at the headquarters of the state police command on Diamond Hill Road, when he was paraded along with other suspected criminals by the Commissioner

of Police, Mr. Henry Fadairo.

Effiok, who hails from the Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the state, said:

“The problem started when I had three rounds of sex with the lady and gave her N1,000 as transport fare back home, but she demanded N5,000. Bassey is my lover. We have been dating for two years. On the day of her death, we had three rounds of sex. I can’t really say if I was tempted by the devil to kill her.

When she refused to collect the N1,000 that I gave her, we started quarrelling and it led to a fight. I brought out a sharp kitchen knife and stabbed her. After stabbing her, she screamed and neighbours broke into my room. They saw her on the ground in a pool of blood. She later died,” he said.
According to him, it was his neighbours that called the policemen that arrested him.

“I regret my actions, I wish I did not kill her,” he said.

Buhari queries Okonjo Iweala for diverting $1.005 billion railway loan

President Muhammed Buhari on Monday demanded explanation from the Ministry of Finance on the whereabouts of the foreign loans obtained for rail projects.
The loan was reportedly siphoned under the watchful eyes of immediate past Minister of Finance, Dr. Okonjo Iweala.
Buhari’s directive followed the alleged diversion of a substantial part of the loan of USD1.005 billion from the Chinese Exim Bank, meant for the construction of a standard gauge rail line linking Lagos and Kano States.
Relatively, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Mohammed Bashar informed the President that only $400 million was left of the loan.
Bashar made the revelation during a presentation of his ministry’s activities to president Buhari at the presidential villa.
“I hope that due process was followed before such diversions were carried out. Taking money from one project to another has to be done properly,” he warned.

FEAR OF BUHARI? Custom Boss, Dikko RESIGNS 2yrs To Retirement

A report on Sahara Reporters claim that the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, has submitted his resignation letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Quoting sources in the presidency, the report said Dikko indicated his willingness to leave his present position on August 18, 2015. Interestingly, the Customs boss tenure will come to an end in two years time. It is however unclear why he has decided to vacate his office.

The report however stated that several top-shots in the Customs are currently under investigation for corruption and some of them may be shown the way out or arrested.

Buhari reportedly earlier turned down Dikko’s resignation in order for him to look into the affairs of the service, but later agreed to let Dikko go, even as there are talks that the president is lining a replacement for Dikko with an officer from the South-South region.
