Whitney Houston’s daughter moved to rehab facility

The daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston, in a medically induced coma after being found unresponsive in January, has been moved to a rehabilitation facility, a source close to the family said Friday.

Bobbi Kristina Brown, 22, had been treated at Emory University Hospital. No details about the transfer to a rehab facility were given.

Brown, Houston’s daughter with singer Bobby Brown, was found unresponsive January 31 in a bathtub at her home in the Atlanta suburb of Roswell. The extent of her injuries isn’t known.

Last month, doctors at Emory removed her breathing tube, allowing Brown to be ventilated through a hole in her throat.
At the time, CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta said the procedure suggested she would need to be on such support for “weeks and months to come.”

I regret not pushing my football career because i see the success and money in it - Halima Abubakar

In a recent interview with Punch, Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar opened up about her career and style.

Halima said if not that she was not picked to join the Super Falcons from the club she played with then, Jegede Babes, she would have become a footballer today and she regrets not pushing her career in Soccer. She also mentioned she started colour-blocking in Nigeria, before Nigerian ladies took over the trend.
Read except from the interview after the cut....

How did you discover your passion for acting?
I just woke up one day and decided that I wanted to become an actress. I took interest in acting because of the kind of movies I was watching then. I watched a lot of Indian movies and television series and that was how I developed the love for acting.
What was your dream job while growing up?
Actually, I thought I was going to become a lawyer because I love arguing. I also developed the passion for football and thought I would become a footballer at a point in my life. I had a lot of passion while I was growing up and I was confused at a point about what I wanted to become in life.
Did you eventually play football at any point in your life?
I played with Jegede Babes and I was meant to be drafted to the Super Falcons but I did not make the list and my career was cut short. I was not a very good runner. Looking back, I actually regret not pushing my football career.
Why do you have regrets?
Because I see the success and money footballers are making. Also, footballers are making a lot of impact in the world. I am equally grateful for my chosen career in acting. I am proud of where the industry has taken us. I might not be rich but I am very knowledgeable.
Do you see yourself as a trendsetter or you follow trends?
I am definitely a trendsetter. I’m eccentric and weird in my style. Sometimes, I don’t get it right but I am happy with the result. I’m always glad that I’m not copying anyone. In fact people copy me. When I started colour blocking, it was just for the fun of it and not because I did not know that I should not have more than three colours on my outfit.
So, you started the colour blocking trend?
Yes and people were criticising me but shortly after, they started doing the same thing. At a point, I outgrew that phase. I just believe people judge too much.
You are known for your love for revealing clothes…
That was in the past. I was a young girl experimenting with fashion and I stopped when I got tired. I did not change my style because of anybody. I wasn’t doing anything extraordinary; it was just a short dress or bum shorts. When you look at my age at that time, it was a normal thing that a teenager does. I grew out of it but in movies, I wear skimpy clothes sometimes. I don’t wear them off set any more. I need to be responsible to my fans and my family. My parents do not like me wearing short things. My mother says if I want to wear such, I should cover my hair. She says if I want to wear miniskirt, I should cover my hair but it cannot be covered in every movie. The funny thing is that at home, I do not wear skimpy dresses. I don’t know how people were able to single me out of the crowd. I was just a teenager having fun.
What is your fashion weakness?
It is definitely shoes. When I was growing up, I did not have so many shoes. Now that I am grown, I think I overdo it because I have a room full of shoes in my house and my friends call it the shoe boutique. I have over 400 pairs of shoes and my mother has warned me against buying anymore because most of them still have their labels on them. I give them out a lot to my fans.
Are there disadvantages being a curvy lady?
For me, it has a lot of disadvantages because people think I am fat because my bum is big. I am a small lady but because I am curvy, I look short. It could be so annoying when someone says I should lose weight because I am fat. When someone’s stomach is big, there are reasons for it. I have ulcer but they conclude that I eat too much.

Mr President Please Leave Entertainers Alone; Stop Wasting Your Time On Them - Etcetera tells GEJ

Oh dear Etcetera is at it again. He just fired at his colleagues as usual. In what seems like an open letter to Mr President. Read below...

Once again, Nollywood and President Jonathan are disconnected from the priorities of Nigerians. Millions are hungry and the country is headed off a cliff and what we get is the President having weekly dinner with celebs at Eko Hotel.
Mr. Presidentshouldknowthatallentertainers in the country won’t amount to a spoon of water in the bucket of our population. I agree that our entertainers judging by recent behaviour are now seen as hungry men and women with insatiable appetite, but Mr. President, the larger part of the society are equally hungry and should be fed as well.
Why feed just the entertainers? Isn’t that discrimination? What will the entertainers say to Jonathan except the usual lies and half truths. Can a man with a mouthful of undeserved food speak or say the truth? An assessment of the lifestyle of these entertainers gives a false picture of the situation of things as it affects the society at large. I got your invite for the first dinner which held at Eko Hotel and I boycotted it because I felt that any event by the government at this point in time should be about reassuring the people that the government feels their pains deeply with promises of working tirelessly to bring an end to the underlying causes of such situations in this country, not getting together to eat small chops and samosa while most Nigerians are languishing. It was very embarrassing waking up the next morning to see our shameless celebrities posing with their invites on social media which invariably means they are telling their fans and the masses who brought them to fame that they are enjoying the good life and everyone else can go to hell.
One entertainer jokingly asked why the President is having these dinners with (the same set of) celebs all the time.Iwanted to attribute it to youth empowerment but on a second thought, If Mr. President has a genuine interest in youth empowerment, hosting a few entertainers doesn’t cut across as empowering the youth.
I think Mr. President has been wrongly advised that entertainers can be used to influence the Nigerian youths and electorate. These entertainers can’t influence votes within their families. Another thing is, if Mr. President must have an interactive session with entertainers,he should consider a larger representation of entertainers from all parts of the country, not just those who ply their trade in the south. It will seem to most people that Mr. President is only interested in entertainers from the south. It is called the Nigerian entertainment industry not the South South and South East entertainment industry.
Has Mr. President taken over responsibilities of the Lagos State governor because he currently seems to enjoy greater visibility in the state than the governor and these visits come with a heavy cost to the state in terms of lost man hours caused by traffic along the routes to the event venue. Streets are usually cordoned off by security personnel and a strange difficulty to use mobile phones in such areas, possibly because of the deployment of radio signal jamming devices by the operatives on guard in those areas. Residents of Lagos shouldn’t go through this because their President is in town. I’ll love to tell Mr. President that service, not celebrities, delivers votes.

Big setback as Ebola hits Liberia again

Liberia Friday confirmed its first new Ebola case in more than a month in a setback to hopes the country would soon be officially declared free of the deadly disease.

The country was the hardest hit at the peak of the epidemic in west Africa and has seen more than 4,000 deaths in all, but was at an advanced stage in its recovery and was expecting to be declared Ebola-free by mid-April before the latest case in the capital Monrovia.
“A woman has been confirmed as an Ebola patient… This is a new case after we have gone more than 27 days without a single case. It is a setback,” government spokesman Lewis Brown told AFP.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced earlier this month that no new case of the deadly virus had been registered in Liberia since February 19.

It was not immediately clear where the new patient became infected, as all contacts associated with the last known chain of transmission completed the 21-day observation period during which symptoms of Ebola are exhibited, according to the WHO.

A source close to the case, speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity, said the woman was the wife of a cured Ebola patient.

According to experts, a patient can still transmit the virus through sex days after being cured.

Suge Knight Collapses in Court After Judge Sets Bail at $25 Million[Photos]

Marion "Suge" Knight's health continues to decline in the midst of his murder trial.

The rap mogul, 49, collapsed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, after the judge ordered him held on $25 million bail, the Associated Press reports

In photos from the hearing, Knight appeared to go unconscious in his chair, hitting his head on the desk in front of him. He was then removed from the courthouse on a stretcher and taken away in an ambulance. His current condition is unknown.

This is now the fourth time he has been hospitalized since being charged with murder after allegedly running over two men with his car and killing Terry Carter, 55, in early February.

In his last court appearance, on March 3, Knight – who is diabetic and has a blood clot – told Judge James Brandlin that he's been receiving inadequate medical care since being taken into custody, and complained of suffering from blindness

As the former Death Row Records CEO's health continues to decline, TMZ reports he is being held "in solitary with no hot water, no blanket and only sporadic showers."
