Rev. King's church blames his death sentence on witches, wizard

The validation of death sentence on Chukwuemeka Ezeugo popularly known as Reverend King is the handiwork of witches and wizards, according to his church members.
The General overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly (CPA) who was convicted of killing a church member will die by hanging, so says Nigerian apex court, the Supreme Court.
But despite the verdict on Friday, February 26, members of the CPA church believes that Rev. King will be spared and return to join the church, The Nation reports.
The validation of death sentence on Rev King is the handiwork of witches & wizards, according to members of Christian Praying Assembly.
At the first church service after the Supreme Court decision, Pastor Ifeanyi King, said in his sermon: “Our G.O. (General Overseer) the most holiness, Rev King, is coming back. He said he would come back and we believe the words of his mouth. We believe his report that he is coming back. Everything happening now we know is the handiwork of witches and wizard. Soon a new story will emerge.
“Whether people realise it or not, everybody now knows his holiness, our G.O. Rev King. The front pages of newspapers are flooded with his name. People are yearning to read about him in the social media. I can confirm to you that by all these, a lot of people have become endeared to him. Our Daddy G.O. shall live forever for us in Jesus name.”
For every word Pastor Ifeanyi King uttered, there was a chorus of Amen by the congregation.
They sang hymns and danced to mark “the birthday of the G.O.” Rev King death sentence was confirmed on his birthday last Friday.
Rev King was sentenced to death in 2007 for the burning to death of a member of his church in 2006.

Boko Haram no longer a threat to Nigeria – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday boasted that Boko Haram insurgents no longer poses a threat to his government’s development programmes despite the groups renewed attacks in some parts of the country.
Buhari made the assertion while speaking at a bilateral meeting he had with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hammad Al-Thani, and contained in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.
The President said since his inception as President in May 2015, the Boko Haram sect has been systematically decimated though admitting that the group’s activities had led to loss of many lives and displacement of innocent people in the country.
“Nigeria is a victim of terrorism. It is with heavy heart that I stand before you and say activities of Boko Haram have led to loss of many lives and displacement of innocent people in our dear nation.
“We, however, take pride to inform you that since our coming to power, Boko Haram has been systematically decimated and are in no position to cause serious threat to our development programmes.
“The conflicts in Yemen and Syria with their attendant humanitarian crisis need genuine international effort to solve.

“Nigeria as a peace-loving country identifies with the State of Qatar in all her peace efforts in the world to end terrorist activities.

Photos: Governor Ambode wears school uniform as he visits his Alma Mater, FGC Warri

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, yesterday attended the Golden Jubilee grand reunion of FGC, Warri, his alma mater.

The governor said:
“Indeed, my becoming a governor can be attributed to what I gained and learnt from this school. We must come together, all of us to ensure that the vision of the establishment of the school must not die.
So it is a great honour to all of us to return here after decades and celebrate this 50th anniversary. We are benefiting from the vision planted years ago.
I want to assure the principal that we are going to bring back the good old days of this school. I wish all the students well and pray that you all be better and more successful than all of us here today.
I like to say a big welcome to seniors and juniors. One great thing about this school is that no matter what you become in life your senior remains your senior.”
