A man in the UK has been jailed for four years after an argument in a cab that resulted to the death of his friend.
The cause? A "poke" on facebook.
Scott Humphery repeatedly punched Richard Rovetto during a row in a cab. The cab man told the court that he heard Humphery angrily ask Rovetto, "If u're such a good friend then why did you poke my girlfriend?"
Sending someone a "poke" on facebook is often seen as a way of flirting with them.
The argument came to a head when the taxi stopped. Humphery struck Rovetto, causing him to bleed from the nose. He then delivered the fatal blow, knocking his friend to the floor and causing him to hit his head on a pavement.
Father-of-one Rovetto suffered devastating head injury and died in the hospital, hours later.
Humphery fled the scene but later turned himself over to the police. He admitted to manslaughter and received a sentence of four years and four months.
