Herbalist Arrested For Alleged Murder Of Client & Dumping The Corpse In Marine Beach


The Lagos state Police command weekend, arrested a 55-year-old herbalist in connection with the alleged murder of a 62-year-old woman, who was declared missing last month, at Olodi Apapa area of Lagos.


Personal effects of the deceased were recovered from suspect who claimed to be a Muslim Cleric, identified as Isiaka Akanbi.

The deceased, Raliatu Kareem reportedly visited the herbalist in his shrine located on Lawani street, Olodi Apapa on October 25, 2014 before her mysterious disappearance. The late Kareem, who resides at 15 Ope-Ewe street in Ijaiye, Agbado area of Lagos, was said to have gone to visit a relative who had a baby at Apapa.

The story took a different turn, after the relative got a call from Ijaiye, demanding for the whereabouts of Mrs Kareem.

Police from Tolu Division were contacted, and the herbalist was arrested. He eventually confessed, disclosing he dumped Mrs Kareem remains at Marine beach. But when the Police got to the place, they did not find the corpse. 
During interrogation, he said he didn't kill the woman but that she slumped and died in his shrine and he had to do away with the corpse. 
The police are still searching for the corpse.

Lagos state Police PRO, Kenneth Nwosu confirm the case, saying investigation was still on.
