President Jonathan Rules Out Investigating Ekiti Audio Tape; Says It's Fabricated

President Goodluck Jonathan has ruled out investigating the Ekiti audio recording, where top military officials and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, were purportedly heard plotting to manipulate the outcome of the June 21 governorship election of Ekiti state.

Prominent persons implicated in the audio tape were; former minister of Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro; Governor of Ekiti state, Ayo Fayose; Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh; Caleb Olubolade, a former minister; Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, Police Affairs Minister, and Senator Iyiola Omisore.
In spite of the admission by Adeyisan that the conversation took place, President Jonathan, insists that there shall be no investigation into the matter, saying the recording was doctored.
Even after the authenticity of the audio tape was confirmed by U.S.-based voice-verification firm, Guardian Consulting LLC, the President informed the ‘Wall Street Journal’ that the audio was fabricated.
Jonathan said: “It’s all fabrications. Why should I investigate things that are not real?”
