Private sector advised to close early, as Lagos declares public holiday for collection of PVC


The Lagos State Government has declared Friday, February 6, as a work-free day for its workers.

This was disclosed in a statement by the state Head of Service, Oluseyi Williams.

The government also urged private sector employers to release their workers early to enable those of them who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards to do so.
“We are enjoining private sector employers to release their workers early today for the same purpose, Governor Babatunde Fashola said the desired prosperity and the brighter rewarding future being sought after by the people, both for themselves and for their children, would be determined by their willingness to sacrifice time to key into the election process by collecting their Permanent Voter Cards for the elections,” the statement said.
The statement further urged the workers to take the opportunity of the holiday to collect their PVCs at their polling unit.
