President Goodluck Jonathan will now hand over to President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on May 29 – according to a clarification by the federal government on Wednesday.
It had earlier been reported that a handover dinner on May 28 would mark the change of baton. But Patricia Akwashiki, minister of information, has made a clarification while briefing the media on the outcome of the weekly federal executive council (FEC) meeting. She said a dinner would still be hosted by Jonathan for Buhari on May 28, and hinted that Buhari might be given an award by the outgoing president.
All handover briefs being coordinated by the secretary to the government of the federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, would be ready by May 28, she said.
