Caitlyn Jenner Wins ‘Woman Of The Year’ Award

As earlier rumoured, Bruce Jenner who this year transformed to Caitlyn Jenner has been handed the Woman of the Year Award by Glamour Magazine.
Caitlyn Jenner accepted the Glamour Woman of the Year award on Monday, telling the crowd that she believes she was put on Earth to tell her story and make a difference in the world.
Caitlyn Jenner is Woman of the year
She said that before she had come out as a woman, she stayed home most of the time. “Now,” she said to cheers, “I actually like going out, and being myself.”
Jenner described her journey to becoming a woman, and spoke of how he sat down with his children to discuss plans to go public. She said she had realized that perhaps “this is why God put me on this earth, to tell my story … and make a difference in the world.”
The award received some backlash for awarding someone Woman of the Year when they have only transitioned less than a year ago. A popular saying in protest of the award is, “It is like saying men are better than women even in being women”.
And it is not the first time Glamour Magazine thinks so wither. Last year, a transgender woman, Laverne Cox, was honoured with the Woman of the Year Award.
