The US Army Officially Apologizes & Remove "Negro" As Acceptable Term For Black Employees

The United State Army recently faced a slew of backlash for approving “negro” as an acceptable term to use when referring to African-American soldiers and now it seems all the uproar did not go in vain.

The U.S. Army has issued an apology and will no longer use the term “Negro” in a document on policies and procedures as an acceptable alternative to African American.

The issue was first reported by CNN on Thursday. The Army dropped the term the same day and issued an apology.

Apologies are all good and fine, but the problem is that these racists incidents continue to happen after the "I'm sorrys" have come and gone. SMH

Why i wear the same T-shirt everyday - Facebook founder, Marck Zukerberg

The founder and chief executive of Facebook, Mark Zukerberg says he's too busy making important life-changing decisions, to have any time worrying about breaking his routine of wearing the same grey T-shirt everyday. He however stated that, he owns different versions of the same T-shirt as clothing.

"I really want to clear my life so that i have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community."

"I'm in this really lucky position where i get to wake up everyday and help serve more than 1 billion people, and i feel like am not doing my job if i spend any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life. So that way i get to dedicate all of my energy towards just building the best products and services." Zukerberg said

Davido reaches Twitter milestone, as he hits one million followers

Nigerian singer, Davido has become the second Nigerian artiste to have one million followers on the social media. He hit the one million mark on Friday, November 7.

Wizkid was the first Nigerian artiste to have one million Twitter followers in February 2014.

Davido announced this feat on his Twitter page;

"Thanks to all my fans! Officially one million followers on Twitter! Now let's get to 2 milli!"

The New Akwa Ibom Stadium To Host Nigeria - Brazil Friendly

Governor Godswill Akpabio has said that the new Akwa Ibom international stadium, will host a friendly match between Nigeria and Brazil in 2015.

The stadium was commissioned on Friday by President Goodluck Jonathan, who was assisted by Ghana's John Dramani Mahama and Ivory Coast's Alassane Ouattara.

Two feared dead, 20 injured at the opening of Uyo stadium

Two persons were feared dead and 20 others injured in a stampede at the entrance of Akwa Ibom international stadium in Uyo on Friday, during its inauguration.

According to reports, crowd control was a difficult task in spite of the road blocks mounted some kilometers away from the stadium. Although they got tickets to enable them access the 30,000 capacity stadium, the crowd started coming about five hours ahead of time.

Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr Emem Bassey, said two unconscious persons were taken to an undisclosed hospital.

Bassey said: "I was told that two persons have been taken to the hospital. These are people who were fighting at the gate in a bid to enter the Stadium. This is the first time this his happening. Everybody is excited. Everybody wants to enter the stadium.

It was gathered that, the security operatives at some checkpoints were using horse whips and tear gas to control the crowd.
