President Jonathan Presented With Awards In Abuja [Photos]

President Goodluck Jonathan received two awards from "The Lady Mechanic Initiative" and "The National Association of Nigerian Medical Practitioners" South-East zone, for his contributions to both societies.

Serious rapture happened on Instagram yesterday, and Today.

People woke up to shock and awe, when they found out that their Instagram follow counts went way down. They started panicking.

Rapper-turn-pastor, Mase even deleted his account after it dropped from N1.5million to 271k.

Rihanna lost a million followers too.

She had about 14million followers on Instagram, and it has dropped to 13million.

Instagram did this without prior warning to its users and it's not only celebs that were affected, regular people too. Even in Nigeria.

RMD Abandons Late Wife Grave [Photo]

Nollywood actor and Delta State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Richard Mofe-Damijo, RMD has abandoned the grave of his late first wife, Mee Mofe-Damijo at Ikoyi cementary, Lagos and the grave is now overgrown with weeds.

According to Famous People magazine, Moors there revealed that they have never seen the husband come to visit the grave since she was buried in the early 1990s.
They said initially members of her NGO, Sunshine Foundation do visit and give them money to clear weeds around the grave. But they have stopped coming.  The Moors added that those who really care about their late love ones do visit regularly to keep the grave clean.

It is interesting to know that, it was Mee who brought RMD to fame and fortune when she married him and moved him from Oshodi, where he was aquatting with some friends to her duplex at Talabi street, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos.

May Ellen Ezekiel, popularly known as Mee was a foremost journalist in Nigeria. Publisher of Classique magazine and editor of Quality magazine and also an host of Mee & You TV talk show, before she died after fibroid operation in Lagos.
Her only daughter and child lives in US.

Popular Kenyan Blogger Arrested For Insulting President Via His Tweets

Prominent Kenyan blogger, Robert Alai has been charged by the Kenya government for undermining the presidency through his critical tweets.

Alai is a government critic with a large number of Twitter followers.

On Twitter, Alai called President Uhuru Kenyatta an "adolescent president" and tweeted phone numbers he said belonged to the president and other senior officials.

"Insulting Raila is what Uhuru can do. He hasn't realized the value of the presidency. Adolescent president. This seat needs maturity."

"No public leader should have private contacts. Resign and go to private sector if you don't want your contacts public."

Alai denied all charges and was later released on around $2,000 bail, soon after his arrest. He was ordered by a court not to post similar content on social media. 

Kenyans on Twitter, including critics of Robert Alai condemned the charges against him. While others agreed to the arrest.

The New N100 Centenary Notes Goes Into Circulation Today

Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN on Thursday said that the commemorative N100 bank note recently unveiled by president Goodluck Jonathan, goes into circulation on Friday, December 19, 2014.

Accordingly, all branches of the Bank have been directed to commence issuance of the currency in their respective locations.

The new note will circulate alongside the existing note.

Kris and Bruce Jenner Officially Divorced After 22yrs Marriage

Kris and Bruce Jenner have finalized their divorce.

According to reports, a Los Angeles judge has signed documents in the case, making the former couple officially single.

The "Keeping Up With The Kardashian" stars had a very amicable split in 2013 after 22years of marriage.

Kris, 59, and Bruce, 65 announced their separation on  October 8, 2013 and the Kardashian matriarch cited "irreconcilable difference" when she filed for divorce.

The pair are already moving on, with Kris dating 33-year-old Corey Gamble and Bruce romantically linked to his now ex-wife's friend, Ronda Kamihira, 57.

Kris has four children from her first marriage - Kourtney, 35, Kim, 34, Kloe, 30 and Rob, 27.

While Bruce welcomed son Burt, 36, and daughter Casey, 34 during his first marriage, and sons Brandon, 33 and Brody, 31 during his second.

His marriage to Kris was actually his third, which has also now hits the rocks.

FG Declares Public Holiday For Christmas & New Year

Federal Government has declared Thursday, December 25th and Friday, December 26th, 2014 which are working days, Public Holidays for Christmas and Boxing day celebrations.

This was made know in a statement issued on Thursday by the permanent secretary, Minister of Interior, Eng. Abubakar Magaji.
According to the statement, Thursday January 1st, 2015 has also been declared as work-free day to mark the New Year.

The statement wished all Nigerians a happy Christmas and New Year celebrations. 

Boko Haram Kills 32 In Borno, Kidnap 100 Others In A Fresh Attack

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents last Sunday, killed 32 people and kidnapped many others in a deadly attack it carried out on Gumsuri village in Borno state.

According to AFP, two officials of the Borno state government while confirming the raid, stated that the villagers are still counting those abducted, who were mostly women and children exceeding 100.

One of the sources, Mukhtar Buba who fled Gumsuri to Maiduguri the state capital revealed that; "After killing our youths, the insurgents have taken away our wives and daughters."

Meet The Man Who Spent £100,000 On Plastic Surgeries To Look Like Kim Kardashian

23-year-old Jordan Parke, who is a die-hard fan of Kim Kardashian and very obsessed with her, has spent four years and a whooping sum of £100,000 in his quest to bear a close resemblance to the reality TV star.

Jordan says he became obsessed with Kim, after seeing her on her reality show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" a few years ago.

Some of the procedures he's done include, lip and cheek fillers, laser hair removal, botox and eyebrow tattoos. He also admits he gets a discount at the clinic where his cosmetic surgeries are performed because he's a frequent customer.

He said; "I love everything about Kim. She's the most gorgeous woman ever. Her skin is perfect, her hair, everything about her."

He's also proud about his new "big lips". He said; "The bigger, the better, I've never felt better about myself. I laugh when people try to insult me by telling me i look plastic or fake. Do they think I'm going for the natural look? If i was I'd ask for my money back."

In case u're worried for him, Jordan is not bothered. He says he enjoys and loves the attention from his weird appearance.

Court Orders Jimi Agbaje To Stop Parading Himself As PDP Guber Candidate

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, ordered PDP and INEC to maintain status quo on the contentious Guber primaries which held in Lagos a week ago, in which Mr Jimi Agbaje emerged the party's governorship candidate for 2015 elections.

It will be recalled that after Agbaje was named the winner, fellow contestant, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro described the election as a "Sham" after the total number of votes cast, 863 was higher than the total number of accredited delegates, 806.

He then took the matter to court.

The court has however, fixed 23 December for INEC and PDP to appear before it, and as such, forbade Agbaje, the acclaimed winner to stop parading himself as the party's governorship candidate till the hearing of the case.

Christmas came early for Stevie Wonder.

The 64-year-old legendary musician, welcomed his ninth child, and second child with girlfriend, Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, a baby girl named Nia.

In November, Wonder was at a centre of baby rumours after it was reported that the singer is expecting triplets with girlfriend, Bracy, bringing his offspring count to 11. Wonder later appeared on "The View", where he was asked about the speculations, which he denied.

"We Do Not Meddle Into Politics" - RCCG Denies Endorsing Osibanjo As General Buhari Running Mate

Prof Yemi Osibanjo, who pastors the Olive branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG on Banana Island, Lagos on Wednesday emerged the running mate of General Muhammadu Buhari.

The general overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has denied endorsing Osibanjo as Buhari's running mate.

Adeboye reacting to the news that went viral yesterday, that the church has endorsed Osibanjo through a Twitter handle -@rccgworldwide, presumed to be the official Twitter handle of the church, has denounced the page.

He said; "RCCG is not affiliated nor represented by @rccgworldwide. The church's official page is @rccghq."

"RCCG has not celebrated anybody for any position in the forthcoming elections! Do not be misled. We are a mission and we do not meddle into politics. We do not endorse candidacies for elections. We are not a political party."
