Court bans AIT from airing defamatory Tinubu documentary

A High Court sitting in Lagos and presided over by Honourable Justice Akinkugbe I.O. granted an injunction, restraining DAAR Communications (The owner of AIT) from broadcasting, transmitting or airing how-so-ever a documentary titled “The Lion of Bourdillon” pending the determination of “The Motion on Notice”

The application was moved by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, the lead counsel for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Plaintiff/Applicant in the defamation case against DAAR COMMUNICATIONS.

The court also adjourned the motion for interlocutory injunction on the application of the defendant/respondent counsel to Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1pm.

The defendant/respondent, DAAR communications, [owners of AIT was represented by Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN.

Court Remove Ibinabo Fiberesima As AGN National President

It’s so early in the new working week but Ibinabo Fiberesima now has a legal issue to deal with. A Federal High Court has voided the election of the former beauty queen and actress as thePresident of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

A ruling by Justice James Tsoho this morning, March 16, 2015, said the election that ushered the 42-year old into office was conducted against a standing court order, in a suit filed by an actor identified as St. Maradona Mikevine. Mikevine served as the National Treasurer in the factional exco led by Emeka Ike as AGN president and had filed the suit to contest Ibinabo’s election as AGN president.

Court filings indicate that Mikevine approached the court praying for the nullification of the election, saying the same was conducted in the face of a subsisting court order restraining the conduct of the AGN election. The said subsisting court order itself had been the product of another suit filed by Emeka Ike since July 25, 2013.

Nigerian Witches and Wizards Association Endorses President Jonathan

As the 2015 presidential elections is drawing close, the Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria(Witzan) has chosen its candidate for the forthcoming polls. 

This was revealed during the weekend by the association’s national coordinator, Dr Okhue Iboi, the Nigerian Watch reports.

According to him, Witzan is backing President Jonathan as its favoured candidate in the forthcoming presidential elections.

He predicted that President Jonathan will win, revealing that the association had warned APC presidential candidate General Muhammadu Buhari not to run against the president.

Dr Iboi recalled that they had similarly warned former vice president Atiku Abubakar four years ago not to contest the election but he disobeyed them and went on to lose.

“I am not supporting any politician but I warned former vice president Atiku Abubakar not to contest against President Goodluck Jonathan four years ago, that he would be defeated and that the action won’t make him return to power again. Not only him, I also warned General Ibrahim Babangida not to attempt it too, so I hope they know better now. We just held a meeting of witches in Kogi State where it was revealed to me that Jonathan would win the presidential election. He has the support of all witches to continue in office,” Dr Ibio said.

 Dr Ibio, however, predicted that after President Jonathan will be announced the winner of the election violence will erupt, and that the tension that will embrace the country will only subside with prayers from Nigerians because it is a nation of prayer warriors.

He also predicted that after President Jonathan’s second term, power will return to the north, and the identity of the candidate that will succeed Jonathan will be made known by 2017.

“And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF — a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill  their dream of having children.  His comments came after Mr Dolce told Italian magazine Panorama that procreation ‘should be an act of love’, adding: ‘You are born and you have a father and mother. At least it should be like that. That’s why I’m not convinced by what I call chemical children, synthetic babies.

‘They are wombs for hire, semen chosen from a catalogue. And then you have to explain to these children who their mother is.’

On if he wanted to be a father, Dolce said: ‘I am gay. I cannot have a child. I don’t believe that you can have everything in life.’ Mr Gabbana added: ‘The family is not a fad. It is a supernatural sense of belonging.’

Along with his husband David Furnish, the gay musician, Elton John is raising two sons, Zachary and Elijah who are four and two years old respectively.

Fellow celebrity father Perez Hilton, who is raising a son of his own, announced he was joining the boycott on Twitter Sunday morning. Other celeb gay parents like Ricky Martin, Alec Mapa and Ryan Murphy et al also on Twitter signified their solidarity with Elton John’s boycott of the designer’s products.

The Police Claim To Know The Robbers Behind Lekki Bank Robbery

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, has revealed that they have a lead on the robbers that stormed a bank in Lekki last Thursday.

The police added that their investigations will spread to neighboring country Benin republic where the armed men were suspected to have gone hiding.

The robbers during a gun battle with police officers, killed three policemen and a teenager.Aderanti who was at the scene of the robbery incident, described the death of his men as unfortunate, adding that they (policemen ) were not even attached to the bank where the gunmen stormed but acted gallantly to prevent the hoodlums from carrying out their devilish act.

Also reacting to  the development, Force Public Relations Officer, Ag. Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ojukwu.

‘’It’s a terrible development. We will see to the end of it. We must get them. You should know that for a long time we have not had that kind of bank robbery in Lagos State. That is why the Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abbah, has given the command matching orders to re-strategise in order to ensure that it does not occur again.’’

“The command is alert to its responsibility. It was because of the anticipation of all this that the CP formed a tactical operation unit to interface with the banks. We held meetings with the banks and we have been having some collaboration with them.

We anticipated that since banks are moving to this corridor, definitely hoodlums will want to torment and because we acted proactive measures that is why we have been able to keep it within this barest minimum.”

Two policemen caught fighting on video face dismissal

The two policemen caught on video fighting will be arrested, investigated and dismissed, the Force headquarters has said.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, told Punch on Sunday that the men would face orderly room trial for their conduct.

“We have seen the video and I can tell you that the men would be identified and apprehended to face disciplinary action. They will face orderly room trial and they will be dismissed,” he stated.

An online video of the two policemen fighting in public with ther uniform on, had gone viral over the weekend.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube on Friday by Sharebitmag with the caption, “Two Nigeria police caught fighting in Lagos,” showed the incident took place at the entrance of a bank.

In the two-minute clip, a mobile policeman was seen in uniform sitting on top of his colleague while delivering blows on him.

Though the video did not show how the brawl began, the second policemen appeared to have been floored, as he did not return any of the punches.

A bottle of an alcohol beverage, Alomo Bitters, was seen on the ground next to the men.

TB Joshua Predicts Another Plane Crash In Nigeria

The general overseer of Synagogue Church Of All Nations, Prophet TB Joshua has revealed some things that will happen soon in Nigeria. 

Prophet T.B Joshua yesterday during a Sunday service televised live via Emmanuel TV, has warned Nigerians to be aware of fake political party people as he also says he foresees a plane crash.

“Pray for Nigeria because I am seeing a plane crash. It’s not a good thing to lose personalities again. “The challenge Nigeria is facing – on the day of voting, when you drop your votes in the ballot box, you will know who is PDP and who is APC. It’s a parable; very delicate. Because everybody plays a game; we deceive ourselves. ‘So this man voted for this party but he’s in that party,”  he said during the broadcast.

Warning: Dont even attempt to assassinate Buhari - APC tells PDP

APC has warned the ruling party and the federal government to shun any plans to assassinate the party's flag-bearer, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. 

According to The Punch, the APC has also raised the alarm over an alleged plot by the Peoples Democratic Party to discredit Buhari.

Reacting to the accusations, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Abdullahi Jalo, has asked the opposed party to provide evidence of any plan to assassinate the APC presidential candidate.

The National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Lai Mohammed, in his turn, stated that PDP-led government had specially trained snipers to eliminate those opposed to President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election bid.

“I have never seen a government so terrified of elections as this present administration. And I have never seen a candidate so terrified of the opposition as Jonathan. Even as recent as last week, (Ekiti State Governor Ayodele) Fayose was asking for the withdrawal of Buhari from the Presidential election; and it is just bizarre -but that coming from Fayose, one should not be surprising.

“Coming to issue of security, they have made an attempt on his (Buhari) life once before; it can be done again. But, let us warn them that any attempt on the life of Buhari or Bola Tinubu will lead to a consequence that will be very dear for this country. They should not even contemplate it.”

 Mohammed added that the Special Force Team was drawn from the Police, the Air Force, the Navy, the Department of Security Service and the National Intelligence Agency.

“It is true. They were trained in Belarus. They are security agents drawn from the NIA, the DSS, the Police, the Air Force and the Navy. They were trained on how to take out targets without any trace or without being discovered and they will leave the scene quietly.”
