Buhari was given a chieftancy title in Benin Republic (See Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari was honored with a traditional title during his one-day visit to the Benin Republic on Saturday, August 1.

Buhari, was given the title of ‘Manahouwhe’ Gbede’, which means “I will never forget you”.

A delegation of US congressmen and women met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, today, August 3.

The delegation, which arrived Nigeria on Sunday, August 2, was led by Congress man Darrell Issa.

Photo: Woman Delivers Quadruplets Four Years after Wedding & Fibroid Operation

A woman, simply identified as Mrs. Nwigboji, has delivered four male babies four years after her wedding. Mrs. Igboji delivered the quadruplets successfully at Mile Four Catholic Hospital, Abakaliki.

When New Telegraph visited the hospital at the weekend, the woman was said to be in stable condition but unable to speak but their correspondent spoke to the husband, Chidubem Nwigboji, who was full of joy.

He disclosed that he wedded his wife in 2011 and they had been having difficulties in child bearing 
and had also been facing pressures from his parents and friends who had been pushing him to marry another wife which he refused.
His words:

“We married since 2011 which after my wife suffered fibroid same year of the marriage. So, she underwent an operation and we began to wait for the fruit of the womb. Last year my wife told me that she was noticing a sign of pregnancy which I told her to wait, not until four months when I told her to go for ultra-sound. The report of the ultra-sound showed twins. 
After some time, I asked her to go back for another ultra-sound which she did and the number started increasing geometrically and finally it revealed quadruplets.”

He called on couples, who are yet to bear children, to trust in God.

“I saw hell in those four years because there was nothing people did not tell me; some asked me to marry another wife that my wife may not bear child. Even members of my family could not help matters; there mounted serious pressure on me to go for an option of another wife and I promised God that I will not do that. 
Today, God has blessed me with all these babies at once and I am very grateful for what He has done. Although I don’t have money; but looking at these babies, I’m fulfilled,” he said.

Suspected Ritualists Dump Woman’s Corpse At Refuse Dump In Ogun(Graphic Photo)

A corpse of a 23-year-old lady was yesterday dumped at a refuse site in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, by suspected ritualists after they cut off some of her parts.

The lady, who was later identified as Sitira by one of her relatives who stormed the Lafenwa Divisional Police headquarters where she was initially taken to by the police rescue team, was suspected to be one of the commercial sex workers plying their trade within the city.

It was gathered that late Sitira, in company of another lady whose body was yet to be found, were allegedly thrown off a moving jeep at the Olomoore refuse dump along the Abeokuta-Lagos expressway which has been notorious for harbouring ritualists in the past.

By the time Leadership Ng visited the scene of the incident in Olomoore junction, ladies’ items which included pants, brassieres, ladies’ armless camisole, lip-sticks, powder kits, nail-paint as well as a pack of cotton wool littered the scene.

The fully-clothed corpse, with her armless camisole and leggings intact, was, however, lying on the ground about 500 metres away from the spot of the items.

Closer observation of her corpse revealed that Sitira had substantial flesh from her right arm cut away with body fluid oozing out.

Meanwhile, a middle-aged woman, Esther Adewuyi, who identified herself as a relative of Sitira, spoke with the journalists amidst sobbing.

She explained that the lady had been living with her mother in the Iberekodo area of Abeokuta North local government after the death of her only child almost two years ago.

Super Falcons have been knocked out of the 2016 Olympic, after loosing 1-2 to Equatorial Guinea in a qualifier match

The Super Falcons are out of the Rio 2016 Olympics qualifiers, after they were beaten 2-1 by Equatorial Guinea in extra time on Sunday. It was a disappointing turn of events for Nigeria’s senior women team, especially since they took a 1-0 lead in the first half of the game at the Estadio de Bata. Ngozi Okobi, who recently signed for Washington Spirit, gave Christopher Danjuma’s team the lead in the 18th minute. The hosts did not equalize until the 86th minute, forcing the game into extra time, when Nzalang Nacional grabbed the winner in the 112th minute of play. This is the second consecutive time that the African champions will miss out on the event, after they lost out via penalties to Cameroun during the qualifying series for London 2012. Equatorial Guinea will now face South Africa in the final round for a ticket to the Olympics.

Nigerian Troops Rescues 178 Hostages Held By Boko Haram (Photos)

The Nigeria military has captured Boko Haram Commander and rescued 178 captivities in Bama axis, Borno State.

The troops successfully cleared terrorists’ camp in Fadan, Shuwarin, Wulari, Ngoro Dauye, Jidori, Alikashiri, Kalzamari-Shuwa and Kalzamari-Kanuri amongst others.

During the offensive operations, 178 people held captives by the terrorists were rescued. They include 101 children, 67 women and 10 men. Also, three Boko Haram flags were recovered while five motor cycles were burnt by the troops. In addition, one Boko Haram commander was captured alive and is presently undergoing investigation.

Boko Haram have been carrying out many attacks since President Muhammad Buhari resumed office in May.

The Army’s response to the group has also intensified, with the Joint Force with other countries helping to resist attacks.

In a new video shared by the insurgent group, they showed off their weapons, decapitate a police officer, and call for Muslims to join their quest.

“I train for both [sports] on the same day. For the jumps, I practice techniques and afterwards I switch to the sprints, focusing on my speed work, especially my starts, which is what I battle with.”
“I start at 6 a.m. every morning in the gym before I run; you get muscles from explosive training. The power of my runs comes from doing weight training and the speed comes from track running.”
