Buhari, Osinbajo deceiving Nigerians with their assets declaration - PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the statement by the Presidency on President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, as a “mere” list of some belongings in place of the pledge made to Nigerians by the President during the electioneering campaigns.
The party said Buhari and Osinbajo failed to produce copies of their declarations, detailing the exact nature and value of respective assets.
The party in a statement on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said “the release of a mere list of belongings falls short of credibility, transparency and anti-corruption standards as well as exposes the proclivity of the present administration for deception.”
“We have noted the release of a flimsy list of belongings of President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo by the Presidency, who want such to pass as the public declaration of assets as pledged by the President.
“Nigerians are not deceived by this poor attempt at window-dressing designed by the Presidency to hoodwink the unsuspecting populace in a desperate bid to shore up its diminished image.

Kylie Jenner Opens Up About Being Bullied as She Shares Inspirational Photo: 'I Breakdown, I Hide, I Cry'

Kylie Jenner got personal on Friday as she shared a pic of anti-bullying activist Lizzie Velasquez on Instagram.

Velasquez, who suffers from a rare syndrome that stops her from gaining weight, became a motivational speaker and started posting videos on YouTube after someone posted a cruel video calling her the "world's ugliest woman."
"It is so unacceptable to treat people like this," Jenner wrote in a long caption on the photo of Velasquez.

And then the reality star talked about her own struggles with bullying.
"People are so quick to say horrible things about me everyday over and over and sometimes I can't take it," she wrote. "Even I at times get affected by it, I breakdown, I hide, I cry."
"It's resulted in a lot of anxiety for me that I've never had to deal with before ever," the 18-year-old continued. "My every move has been documented for the whole world and its been a nightmare trying to find myself through all of this. And I've absolutely lost apart of myself."
Telling Velasquez how she admires her, Jenner wrote, "Lizzie has taken that negative energy and has turned it around by traveling around the world doing motivational speeches. When I asked her what the key messages were of her speeches, she told me that 'Most importantly I try to convey that all you need to have is a brave heart to accomplish whatever you want to achieve. Let the negative build you up instead of knocking you down. You are enough no matter what; you were put on this earth for a reason.' "

Buhari’s First Semester Report Card - Etcetera's writeup this Saturday is interesting

Etcetera's writeup this weekend is instructing. He writes on Buhari’s performance so far since he assumed office.
Read below:
We often use benchmarks as measures of progress. ‘How is your favourite football team doing at the beginning of this season?’ ‘How many words does your one-year-old son say in a minute?’
And, of course, there’s the time-honoured measure of how well a new president is doing after 100 days in office. In case you hadn’t heard, that benchmark is here for President Buhari.
You may feel it’s a little impertinent for me to issue a report card for President Buhari on his performance during his first 100 days in office. Yes, I’m not his teacher, and he’s not my student.
But what the heck? It’s a free country and everyone else is doing it. So here it goes:
Confidence:- Buhari has brought back confidence in governance. Especially in tough times, the confident presence of a leader begets confidence in those that he or she leads. With his steady demeanour, optimistic outlook and command, Buhari embodies confidence. The number of incompetent heads of parastatals he has sacked so far reflects that sentiment. The percentage of Nigerians who think the country is on the right track is up. Grade: A1
Pace of Governance:– When the pressure is high, leaders need perspective. They need swift action. Buhari is working on so many things all by himself that it’s sometimes hard to keep track of all of them. He has too much on his plate. He should get into perspective and allow others do the job where he can’t. It won’t be a surprise to discover that the president is in charge of his travel itinerary, meeting schedule and other range of issues on his plate. He runs the risk of edging toward a burn out. Well, some argue that the president is keeping a pace that works for him. Grade: F9
Communications:– Effective leadership communication is outcome oriented and audience specific. President Buhari is clearly not an articulate communicator and he doesn’t do enough to shape his message to the audience. Hearing Mr. President pronounce APC leaves you lost and wondering if you heard him correctly. Maybe his media aides should have used this as an excuse to exonerate him from the hundred things he promised to have achieved before his first 100 days in office that has now capped him as a liar. Buhari’s tone of voice usually stays within a fairly narrow range. He could do better here. Grade: F9
Team Player: – There are two major factors on this distinction. The first is to get a great team in place. The second is to get your ego out of the way and allow the team to do their job. Buhari has stumbled here and most people will agree that his failure to appoint ministers in his first 100 days in office has been a setback to governance. Whether you agree with me or not, Buhari can’t be president and ministers all by himself. We need competent hands to man the various ministries. You cannot achieve a lot in three and half months without the support of a team. Good leaders are the keepers of the what, not the masters of the how. Assembling a strong team also helps in establishing an agenda. Buhari needs to realise that he’ll likely never have more momentum than he has now if he doesn’t put a team on the ground. Grade: F9
Accountability and Responsibility:President Buhari has done fairly well with the campaign for government officials to be held accountable for their actions or inactions. He has brought a sense of transparency and has taken some interesting first steps in promoting government accountability. I think this is an area where there is a lot more to do however. For instant, there hasn’t really been a clear explanation yet as to how he is going to tackle corruption and how the country will avoid being ripped apart by government officials in the years to come. Grade: C
Economy: – This has so far been one of the president’s worst subjects. He may be making a grave mistake focusing all his attention on recouping looted funds instead of providing the basic needs of the people. Never in history has this approach successfully led a country out of recession. This might lead to an unhappy ending, and more inflation. The continuous drop of the nation’s currency is stark reminder that we are still in the worst slump in 50 years. Grade: F9
National Security:- Nigerians are still not experiencing any sense of security. People are dying and getting maimed everyday on the streets by hoodlums and touts. Boko Haram insurgents are still using the yet to be found Chibok girls for their bombings. Armed robbers are having a field day carting away properties. The country is still not safe. Grade: F9

70 year old man wakes up in Benue morturary 3days after being certified dead (Photos)

A man who was certified dead and had spent three days in a mortuary in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, has returned to life.
Amos Otene, 70, had been certified dead by doctors at a private hospital on Saturday, August 26, at about 4.30am. He was subsequently covered up and wheeled into the mortuary to await embalming.
The doctors had also extracted body fluids and other substances from the Otene’s body for post mortem examination in order to reveal the cause of his assumed death.
Otene had been admitted to the hospital on Friday, August 25, after he complained of severe toothache which persisted for several days

One of his children, Eche, who lives in Lafia, Nassarawa state, was taken to the mortuary to confirm that his father had indeed died. According to him: “The morticians at the hospital wheeled out the trolley containing my father and unveiled the face for me to see.
“It was in this process that he started raising his right hand and all of us fled towards the reception area of the mortuary. From a safe distance we watched as my father lifted himself and sat on the bed and that was about seven minutes later. One of the attendants eventually summoned enough courage and approached my father who fell back on the trolley.”
The doctors immediately ordered that Otene be readmitted in the ward where he was attended to and remained in the ward till the doctors carried out series of tests and certified him fit to go home.
Meanwhile, well-wishers have been goinging to Otene’s residence to catch a glimpse of him. Speaking to Vanguard, Otene said: “What I remember is that I was in a vehicle and traveled a long distance.
“When I got there, there were many people and there was a lot of celebration and merriment and the people were happy. But they did not allow me to stay with them. They said I should go back and repeat my work.
I am much better now and I thank God for everything and I also owe many thanks to the hospital for taking care of me and my family members who have been worried. I hope they will continue to be with me until I am completely free from this stress.”
But a Makurdi-based medical practitioner, Dr. Ameh Edace, said Otene was most likely not dead when he was declared so. He said:“He was in a long coma. He was in a long coma if he came back to life before embalment.”

Pastor Chris Okotie Reacts To Emeka Ike’s Marriage Crisis Allegation

Reports emerging from the Punch newspaper, say that Household of God preacher, Pastor Chris Okotie has responded to Emeka Ike’s claims that he is the one behind the plot to destroy his marriage.

In the publication’s report about the story it claims that Okotie has dismissed the claims of trying to split the actor and his wife as ‘rubbish’.

On September 2, Emeka Ike released an official statement claiming that the man of God was behind his marriage troubles.

“Pastor Chris Okotie just absolved my wife into his church without making any effort to get in touch with me. If as a pastor, your church member is having issue with her husband, and you failed to do anything to resolve it, what kind of pastor are you? When I called him, he refused to pick my call. He also failed to react to a text message I sent to him. Is that a man of God? Even, if you have a police case, they will make effort to hear from you before taking a position, not to talk of the church“

In July Emeka Ike’s wife Emma Ike granted an interview to The Nation newspaper where she spoke about her marriage troubles.

“The last time I wanted to speak with our children, it was my mother-in-law who picked the call and asked if I had read Exodus 21 which says that if I go, I shouldn’t return.”

She also said that Emeka took her last two children from her during the period of her mother’s burial in February. “He promised to bring them to me immediately I returned from my mother’s burial but he didn’t. He doesn’t allow me to speak with them anymore. They are now against me.“

Emma disclosed that she had to leave their matrimonial home because of domestic violence. “If I was still with him, I may not survive. I was 19-year old when I met him and he was the one who deflowered me. I see no reason I shouldn’t be treated with utmost respect. Due to physical torture, my health has been affected. There was even a time I thought I had chest cancer because I felt a lump on one part of my chest” she said.

Pope Francis pulled a stunt recently, he sneaked out of Vatican to something strange(Photos)

Pope Francis made a scene for an unusual reason on Thursday, September 3, when he slipped out of the Vatican to visit an optician.

Usually, the optician delivers new glasses to the residence of the leader of all Catholics, but this time, Pope Francis insisted on travelling to the shop in central Rome.

BBC reports that large crowds gathered outside the shop as he spent an hour inside, and at the end they insisted on him praying.
View the photo report and a video of the visit. The story continues below.

The Papa, who was accompanied by an assistant, a bodyguard and several police officers, has reportedly expressed regret at not being able to walk freely on the streets of Rome.
Daniel Soehe, a German tourist, said he had failed to see Pope Francis in the Vatican earlier in the day, but then spotted him in the optician’s shop.
He told the Associated Press news agency that he told his father that seeing the Pope in a shop trying on new glasses was a better experience than going to St Peter’s dome.
Many have said that Pope Francis is one of the most outstanding of popes, with his teachings and way of life seeming very different from his predecessors. For some he is the most people and public friendly bishop of Rome.

Melissa Rivers remembers her mum, Joan Rivers one year later

Friday is one year since Joan Rivers’ death, and Melissa Rivers is marking the occasion with a heartfelt statement about grief, fan support, and life without her colorful mother.

The former "Fashion Police" host died on September 4, 2014 at age 81, one week after she stopped breathing during a routine outpatient medical procedure on her throat. She went into cardiac arrest and, after being rushed to the hospital, was placed in a medically-induced coma. Despite her age, Joan was considered to be in relatively good health, and her death sent shockwaves through Hollywood.

Of course, no one was more shocked or devastated than Melissa and her son Cooper. In a statement posted to Joan’s Twitter account on Friday morning, she says:
“Today marks one year since my mother passed. This was the year of firsts: first birthdays, first everything without mom, without grandma. While it’s been difficult, I’ve been amazed by the outpouring of love and overwhelming kindness we’ve received from family, friends and people whose lives were touched by the woman they knew as Joan — a woman we all miss so very much.”

For real? President Buhari Orders Closure Of Aso Rock Villa Church

According to thenetonline, President Muhammadu Buhari has allegedly moved against Christian religious activities within the precincts of the Aso Rock presidential villa, a source familiar with the matter revealed.
The Aso Rock Villa Chapel serves as the official church of Aso Rock where Christian activities inside the presidential villa are conducted.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to The Trent on Thursday, September 3, 2015 on condition of anonymity, heavily armed men stormed the Aso Rock Chapel on Sunday, August 30, 2015 denying worshipers access to the church.

“Normally, services begin by 7am at the church but when we got there, we met armed security men who said we cannot enter. They said they were acting on orders from above. We waited outside till a few minutes past 8am before they allowed us to enter,” the source disclosed.

A visibly embarrassed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who worships at the Villa Church, arrived the Chapel and could be seen managing to conceal a worried expression over the incident.

When their reporter contacted Presidential Spokesman Garba Shehu to confirm the development, he claimed he was not aware of the incident. “What you are telling me is new to me. I am not aware of this issue. There is a lot we are dealing with and I hope you are aware the church was handed over to Vice President Osinbajo. So please call Prince Laolu Akande, his spokesman to confirm this issue”, he said.
Further investigations by The Trent have revealed that Sunday’s move was the second in a series of brazen attempts to shut down Christian activities in the Villa.

Less than two months ago, the Children’s Church of the Villa Chapel where the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Oludolapo Osinbajo worships with the children was closed down on orders from above. According to our source, “security concerns were given as reasons for the closure of the Children’s Church.”

Attempts by the newspaper to reach Vice-Presidential spokesman Laolu Akande failed as his phone lines were unreachable at the time of filing in this report.

With the rise of unprofessional journalist, I personally don't think this story is TRUE. However, just read it and share your opinions.

Cultists Beat, Bury Bus Driver Alive In Lagos (Photo)

The Mushin area of Lagos State was fright filled as some suspected cultists dragged a motorist out of a commercial bus and buried him alive.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the yet-to-be-identified victim was on his way to the Oyingbo area of the state. He was said to have been dragged out of the bus at the Total bus stop in the Mushin end of the Ikorodu Road.

A witness, Jacob Amos, said the incident happened around 8pm on Wednesday, adding that policemen from the Alakara Police Division were alerted.
He said,
“The man was in the bus when he was dragged out at Total bus stop. They brought him into Mushin and I immediately alerted the policemen from Alakara.
“The police went to Adewusi Street, and searched the place for more than one hour, but they did not find anything. They patrolled the place and when they did not see anything, they left.
“Around 10pm when everybody had gone home, they brought the man to the Railway Line and push him from head down into a filled canal. Only his leg was sticking out.”
The victim was said to have died soon afterwards. Our correspondent learnt that policemen from Alakara later arrived on Thursday to remove the corpse.
A witness, who did not identify himself, said the police ordered him to pull out the corpse from the murky water.
Friends of the deceased from Market Street, Oyingbo, were said to have shown up to identify him.
A resident lamented that the police in the area, were not doing enough to arrest the unrest in Mushin, lamenting that there were saboteurs in the force.
He said it was the second time in a week that people from the Oyingbo area would be hounded and killed in Mushin, which could start a war between the two communities.
He said,
“The police in this area have been compromised. When we called them yesterday that someone had been captured around Oyewusi Street, an informant of the cultists whom we suspect work with the police, quickly alerted the guys and they left the place.
“They brought the victim to our side to make it look as if we are responsible for his death. Their plan is to set the Oyingbo boys against us and trigger a war.”
Residents of the area alleged that the increased killing of suspected cult members from Oyingbo was orchestrated by one Rilwan, aka Itakun.
Other men said to be in the group are White, Ese Chicago, Ina, Anarchy and Riliwanu.
The source said Itakun had his family house in Oyingbo and left the area due to persecution by some suspected cultists.

However, another resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, denied that anyone was killed in the community.
He said, “There is nothing like that. Nobody was killed on the Railway Line or anywhere for that matter.”

Amaechi Boasts That No One Has The Right To Probe Him

Former Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, says no anti-corruption agency in the country can probe him.

Recall that Amaechi along with some other former governors: Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano); Sullivan Chime (Enugu); Babatunde Fashola (Lagos); Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom); Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Shehu Shema (Katsina) and Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State were being probed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and related offences Commission.

However, Chief Tony Okocha, a former aide to Amaechi, told one of said that the ex-governor was not afraid of ICPC or the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as long as the probe was not a witch-hunt.

Okocha, however, recalled that the ICPC and the EFCC had not vacated a court order stopping any of them from investigating any Rivers Government official and as such could not probe him.
He stated that Governor Nyesom Wike was a beneficiary of such order from the court, adding that until the court injunction was vacated, it would be illegal for the ICPC to probe his boss.
“I have always said that Amaechi is not afraid of the EFCC or the ICPC as long as such probe is not a witch-hunt. Again, there is a court order that the EFCC or other agency like it cannot probe any government official in the state. Wike is a beneficiary of that court order.
“Until that court order is vacated, the ICPC or the EFCC have no right to investigate Amaechi. Since what they are going to investigate is his (Amaechi’s) activities while in government, the EFCC and the ICPC do not have such right to do so based on the standing court order.”

Buhari says Nigerians will soon see the change he promised

President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that Nigerians will soon see the fulfillment of his election campaign promises.
Buhari, who disclosed this on Wednesday in Abuja while receiving university students, assured Nigerian youth that his government’s anti-corruption campaign would secure their future.
In an address to members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who marched to the presidential villa to pledge their full support for his anti-corruption campaign, Buhari promised that he will do his best to place Nigeria well on the way to becoming the nation of their dreams.
“Everything you have asked for are the things that will make for a good country, and what we are after is a good country, a country where our youths can have a future and a hope,” the president said.
“We are totally committed to building a country where our youths can realize their full potential.
“You can be assured that your welfare and well-being are topmost in our minds and very soon you will see the things we have promised come to fruition.
“During the campaigns, change was our slogan, but today it is no longer a mere slogan, it is now a reality and we will see it in every facet of our lives.
“The youth will feel it, the adults will feel it and old people will feel it and we will get the country of our dreams,’’ Adesina.

At last, Buhari, Osinbajo declare assets

Osinbajo is richer than Buhari. Owns houses in VI, Ikoyi, England.

THE Presidency last night released details of President Muhammadu Buhari’s declaration of assets, which put his net worth at less than N30 million.
Also, his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, a successful lawyer and accomplished university teacher, was said to have about N94 million and $900,000 in his bank accounts.A snippet of Buhari/Osinbajo’s asset declaration form released by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, read:
“Documents submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), on May 28 showed that the retired General has indeed been living an austere and spartan lifestyle, contrary to what many might expect of a former Head of State of Nigeria and one who has held a number of top government positions, such as governor, Minister of Petroleum and the head of the Petroleum Special Trust Fund (PTF).
“The documents submitted to the CCB, which officials say are still being vetted and will soon be made public, show that prior to being sworn in on May 29, President Buhari had less than N30 million to his name.  He also had only one bank account, with the Union Bank. President Buhari had no foreign account, no factory and no enterprises.  He also had no registered company and no oil wells.
“The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) who had been a successful lawyer before his foray into politics declared a bank balance of about N94 million and $900,000 in his bank accounts.
“President Buhari declared however, that he had shares in Berger Paints, Union Bank and Skye Bank. This is entirely unlike what one might expect from a former head of state of a country like Nigeria.
“The documents also revealed that President Buhari had a total of five homes, and two mud houses in Daura. He had two homes in Kaduna, one each in Kano, Daura and in Abuja. One of the mud houses in Daura was inherited from his late older sister, another from his late father. He borrowed money from the old Barclays Bank to build two of his homes.
“President Buhari also has two undeveloped plots of land, one in Kano and the other in Port Harcourt.  He is still trying to trace the location of the Port Harcourt land.
“In addition to the homes in Daura, he has farms, an orchard and a ranch. The total number of his holdings in the farm include 270 heads of cattle, 25 sheep, five horses, a variety of birds and a number of economic trees.
“The documents also showed that the retired General uses a number of cars, two of which he bought from his savings and the others supplied to him by the Federal Government in his capacity as former Head of State.  The rest were donated to him by well wishers after his jeep was damaged in a Boko Haram bomb attack on his convoy in July 2014. “As revealed by the same forms, highlights of the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo’s asset declaration include his four-bedroom residence at Victoria Garden City, (VGC) Lagos and a three-bedroom flat at 2 Mosley Road, Ikoyi. The Vice President also has two-bedroom flat at the popular Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and a two-bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England. Aside from these, the Vice President has no other landed properties on the form.
“Apart from his law firm, known as SimmonsCooper, the vice-president also declared shareholding in six private companies based in Lagos, including Octogenerium Ltd., Windsor Grant Ltd., Tarapolsa, Vistorion Ltd., Aviva Ltd. and MTN Nigeria.”
According to details shown on the form, the Vice-President has about N94million, $900,000 and £19,000 in Nigerian Banks with the foreign currencies kept in local domiciliary accounts. His personal vehicles are one Infinity 4-Wheel Drive SUV, one Mercedes Benz and a Prado Jeep.
“As soon as the CCB is through with the process, the documents will be released to the Nigerian public and people can see for themselves,” Shehu said.
