An eighteen seater bus was involved in a fatal accident during the weekend, killing seven people, including a pregnant woman and a baby, at Kara, along Lagos/Ibadan express way.
According to eye- witnesses, the bus which took off from Lagos suddenly started leaking fuel. One of the passengers was said to have noticed a spark an raised an alarm. The driver pulled over t check but few minutes after take off, fire gutted the entire bus, leaving the doors jammed. The passengers scamper for safety but it was too late as they were trapped, leaving seven people including a pregnant woman and a baby burnt beyond recognition. While eleven others sustained degrees of injuries.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, TRACE Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident. The dead bodies and injured persons were taken to Ogun State University Teaching Hospital (OSUTH), Shagamu.
