Abiodun Ojedokun, 28, has been sentenced to six days community service by Somolu Magistrate's Court for stealing a large pot of soup.
The judge, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, sentenced the convict to 48 hours of community service for each of the three charges, after he had pleaded guilty.
The convict, arraigned on a three court charge of stealing, burglary and conspiracy pleadded guilty to all charges.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinlabi Adegoke told the court that the convict committed the crime on September 20 at 2am at the Onipanu Model Market in Somolu, Lagos.
The accused connived with some others, currently at large, to break into one Mrs Gbadamosi Sanni's shop and stole a large pot of soup, valued at N8,000.
The prosecutor told the court that the offence contravened sections 285, 308, and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Ojedokun pleaded guilty to all charges and asked for leniency, claiming that he committed the offence because he was starving.
