A middle- aged man has been ordered by the Sharia Court, to marry the wife he divorced after infecting her with HIV/AIDS virus.
The man, Abdullahi Ahmad, was dragged to the court by his ex-wife, Umma Usman, who told the court that the defendant had divorced her and asked her to vacate his house, after infecting her with the disease. She informed the court that, both of them had been living together for 13yrs and have children together.
The Judge, Mallam Farouk Ahmad said, under Islamic Sharia Law, it is binding on the husband to stay with his wife for the rest of her life being the person responsible for infecting her with the disease.
He ordered him to re-marry her and take good care of her.
