Damaturu, the Yobe state capital and one of the troubled states in the North, came under attack this morning as Military and Boko Haram members exchange gun-fire from 5:30am to around 7:54am on Monday.
According to security sources, the Islamic sect started shooting around Bukar Abba University along Gujba road to the city centre where a gun battle ensued, before the situation came under control by the military.
A hospital source at the Sani Abacha General Hospital said, corpses are being brought to the hospital.
"I do not count corpse, but those who were bringing the dead said, so far they have counted 70 corpses.
