In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati on Monday, president Goodluck Jonathan expressed sadness over the death of the spiritual leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Prophet Bunmi Fakeye, who died on Sunday at the age of 78.
The statement reads; "President Goodluck Jonathan has received with sadness, news of the death of Prophet Gabriel Olubunmi Fakeye, the spiritual leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church.
President Jonathan extends heartfelt condolences to Prophet Fakeye’s family, members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church and the Christian community in Nigeria on the demise of the great servant of God.
“The President joins them in mourning the revered spiritual leader who greatly inspired and motivated his followers and other Nigerians with his vibrant elucidation of the Word of God as well as his exemplary lifestyle and moral conduct.
“President Jonathan prays that Almighty God will grant Prophet Fakeye’s soul eternal rest.
“He also prays that God Almighty will comfort members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, and place the mantle of the Church’s spiritual leadership on a worthy successor to the late Prophet Fakeye.”
