Two suicide bombers have been reported on Wednesday killed by the explosives they strapped to their bodies before they reached their target, a hospital at Molai, a village located in the outskirt of Maiduguri, an hour after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s arrival at the Borno state capital.
According to Daily Trust, deafening sound ensued around 11.20am, across the metropolis from the blast, even though the two failed suicide missions occurred several kilometers away from the areas that the vice president passed through.
A security operative, who pleaded anonymity revealed that; “The two terrorists drove on bicycles and disguised as if they wanted to enter the hospital to see doctors or visit the sick. One of them wanted to gain access through the front door and the other one through the back door but were all denied.”
“But when they were denied, the explosives in their bodies exploded and killed them,” he said.
He added that a few people were injured from the blast.
