Not less 12 close aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan have surrendered their official passports to the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Vanguard reports that the official passports of the former aides of Dr Jonathan were withdrawn in order to prevent misuse and conflict with new aides of President Muhammadu Buhari, who took over from them.
The former aides and officials of the last President, were reportedly asked by the Presidency to return their official passports to the Villa within a specified time-frame.
The affected former aides of Jonathan are said to have already returned the passports to the Presidential Villa, after which they will be handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Those whose passports have been collected, includes; Special Adviser to the President on Media Reuben Abati; former Aide-de-Camp, Col. Ojogbane Adegbe and former Chief Security Officer, Gordon Obua.
Apart from the aforementioned trio, nine other major officials of the Goodluck Jonathan have also been stripped of their official travel documents.
