D’Prince reveals Why Don Jazzy and the Mavins snubbed D'banj 10th anniversary
Many still wonder why the Mavin boss, Don Jazzy and his crew failed to show up at D’banj’s 10th year anniversary on stage held a few weeks back.
However, contrary to belief that there is beef between the former label mates, it has been revealed that they got no invites to the event.
Don Jazzy’s younger brother and Mavin Record artiste D’Prince said this in a recent chat with Saturday Beats. He explained that he was not in town and perhaps, that may be why he didn’t get any invitation.
He also emphasised that there is no friction between him and D’banj as they are close friends.

He also emphasised that there is no friction between him and D’banj as they are close friends.
“D’banj is my very good friend and anytime I see him, we hug and talk. There is no beef between us. The truth is that I was not in town when D’banj had his anniversary. Tiwa Savage is pregnant and Dr. Sid is also not in town while Don Jazzy was in South Africa. I was not in town and even before I traveled, I did not get a personal invitation to the event.”Commenting on D’banj’s recent interview where he spoke about how Mo’Hits break up, D’Prince said he thought the issue was long gone and forgotten.
“To be frank, I thought that chapter was closed about two years ago, I never knew that D’banj is still granting interviews regarding the split because I thought we had gone through the whole story, leaked e-mail, hearsays and the likes. I am so happy that D’banj and Mavin Records are doing great. I don’t want us to keep putting the fans in the mishmash. The fans would always be vulnerable. The fans would always want to be entertained and we would always be the puppets that entertain them.
“I think D’banj was speaking based on his feelings and the fans reacted. I will always have love for Mo’Hits, DB records and Mavin Records because at the end of the day, it is the music that would keep us relevant. It is what brought us to where we are in the first place. We should all concentrate on our work and progress. We should love one another and not hate. There is no fight or war between us. What matters most is moving forward and making music. I feel that he was pressured to do the interview; he did so and expressed his feelings. I may agree and disagree with some of the things that he said but at the end of the day, I am still going to stick to love, peace and harmony,” he said.
Genevieve’s $4m Ghana mansion is the grandmother of all lies & liars shall go to hell - Etcetera
Singer turned social media critic, Etcetera is at it again. In this week’s edition of his weekend articles, singer cum writer Etcetera attacks Nigerian entertainers saying they kinda lie about the degree of their wealth. He particularly called out Oritsefem, D’banj, Iyanya and Wizkid. He also referred to Genevieve Nnaji saying her $4m house in Ghana is the grandmother of all lies.
Read below....
And all liars shall go to hell – Rev 21:8.
Again, I’m going to go out on a limb here to talk on a subject that may not be very popular or nice to Nigerian celebs, especially the guilty ones. I have said it severally that just because someone is a celebrity doesn’t mean they are smart. They may have a talent or skill but many of them are not smart especially when it involves their finances. The old saying, “your lies will come back to haunt you” has never been more true than the recent cases of D’banj, Iyanya and Wizkid who are being kicked out of their homes after lying they owned the properties. The residents of blogosphere boulevard were stunned when the news broke that D’banj got an eviction notice from his landlord and was also said to be highly indebted.
Yes, it is hard to believe that someone of D’banj’s status could actually be thrown out of his house. But for those who know that the Nigerian entertainment industry is built on lies and more lies, it didn’t come as a surprise or a case of a cranky landlord. Entertainers are well rehearsed liars. They are not what they make you believe they are. Even the upcoming artist with just one song on radio issues a press release that they’ve bought a mansion in Lekki Phase One and a Range Sport SUV?
There was a time when it was strongly whispered that Don Jazzy and his crew owned Club Jonzing until the truth came out. You must have also heard that D’banj owns Koko Lounge. My brothers and sisters in habit of believing everything you hear, I wish you all knew how your favourite celebs laugh in their closet seeing you swallow the lies like fufu and draw soup. Let me give an example of how some artistes can be terrible liars, we were on a tour of five Nigerian cities with Basketmouth and his then Humour Unlimited monthly show sponsored by BAT. When we got to Enugu, a certain artiste was snoring like a broken trailer exhaust pipe in the bus on our way from the event centre to the hotel. I tapped him hoping to stir him up to reduce his noise but I was shocked when he woke up immediately swearing that he wasn’t snoring, that he was only trying to get our reaction. Our reaction? After snoring for about 20 minutes with a trail of saliva from one corner of his mouth to his shirt collar! O’boy some people can lie in Africa.

Did you hear it on breaking news when Iyanya bought a house in his dreams? His management must have thought it was a fantastic promo strategy then. If only they knew that not far into the future, Iyanya would be dragged by his balls across the floor of the internet, and that his aggrieved brother would take to twitter to inform everyone that Iyanya had been evicted (not from Project shame) from his dream mansion. Yes, it is double wahala for deadi-bodi and the owner of deadi-bodi but won’t it be tripple wahala for Oritsefemi and his management when fans eventually discovered that the N200m mansion he purportedly bought some months back was actually bought in his dreams and not in the real world?
How much does he charge per gig and how long has he been playing these gigs to be able to afford a mansion of that amount? Isn’t it wonderful how naija entertainers think their fans and everyone else is shallow and gullible? Common sense should tell every artiste that these lies won’t achieve anything but hurt their careers in the long run when the truth is eventually revealed.
Like it was revealed this week that Wizkid’s car hasn’t been paid for. True, some naija musicians make a lot of money, but not the kind of money they want you to believe. Does Oritsefemi look the part of a N200m house owner even with all his body cream? The telco brand ambassadors who are being coerced into lying about their endorsement fees can’t make such a preposterous claim not to talk of someone with no endorsement deal. I shivered when I saw in some blogs over the week that Genevieve just bought a house in Ghana for a whopping $4m. This will go down as the grandmother of all lies told so far. Genny baybay, you should have asked yourself if there’s any house worth $4m in the whole of Ghana, except you bought the Ghana National Theatre which by the way may not be worth $4m.
These lies are getting dumber by the day. The worst thing that can happen to any man is believing his own lies. If we had a system where entertainers are taxed for their acquisitions, the ridiculous and unnecessary lies will stop. They will speak the truth and nothing but the truth or so help them God.

Kelly Osbourne has quit "Fashion Police".
The co-host of the show walked out on Friday, following a week of tension after fellow host, Giuliana Rancic's much-discussed and controversial comment about Zendaya's dreadlocks. However, TMZ is reporting that Osbourne's departure has nothing to do with Rancic's controversy.
Below is official E! Statement on her departure...
"Kelly Osbourne is departing E!s "Fashion Polic" to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit wit viwers."According to TMZ, there's been tension between Osbourne and the show's producers ever since the E! Program returned on air after the death of long time host, Joan Rivers.
The site claims Osbourne complained from the start about production matters and that producers were fed up with her.
Earlier this week, when the controversy spiked, she threatened to quit and tweeted - "I will not like to be dragged into this! I did not make the weed comment. I do not condone racism. So as a result of this, am seriously questioning staying on the show."
The issue was later resolved when Rancic apologized to Zendaya.
Lupita Nyong'o Stolen $150K Oscar Gown Returned In A Trash Bag
The $150,000 pearl-studded dress worn by Lupita Nyong'o to the Oscars and then stolen from her hotel room this week, has been returned.
On Friday, the thief took the stunning gown back to the hotel and called TMZ to confess the crime and revealed where to find it(in a garbage bag).
According to TMZ, the thief called and confessed that he saw Lupita's hotel room door ajar on Wednesday and went in to grab the dress. He and his accomplices allegedly took the pearls off the gown with the intention to sell and took them to an unidentified location, where they were told they weren’t real.
The thief claims the Calvin Klein gown reportedly valued at about $150,000 is actually worthless. He claims the pearls are fake and told TMZ he wanted the world to know about "Hollywood fake bulls*t". That's why he took the dress back to the hotel and alerted the media. The Police went to the hotel to check out the story and found the trash bag containing the dress.

Facebook will then review the post, and if it agrees that there is reason for concern, the individual concerned will be presented with a prompt to get help the next time they log in.
The page presented reads: "Hi, a friend thinks you might be going through something difficult and asked us to look at your recent post."
Users will be presented with a number of options
The user is then presented with the option of contacting a mental health expert, friend, or getting tips and support online.
They also have a third option of skipping support altogether.

Man rapes his 15-year-old daughter “to confirm her virginity”
A man simply identified as Mr. Alex was arrested for attempting to rape his 15 year old daughter in his apartment at Abiodun street, Ajegunle, Ajeromi, Ifelodun local government area of Lagos.
He claims he carried out that act to test her virginity.
Leadership newspaper reports that Alex was apprehended by his neighbours and handed over to the police at Ajegunle police station but was later released on bail last weekend.
A police inspector attached to Ajegunle police station disclosed that it was neighbours that dragged the suspect to the station.
He said: “His wife was not at home when he wanted to perpetrate the act but the man denied doing that.
“You know that nobody will agree that he wanted to rape his daughter. Police acted on the information given to us and even took the minor to the general hospital for medical examination.”
According to the source, Alex claimed that he only wanted to check whether his daughter had been breached.
“He wanted to know whether his daughter is still a virgin or not. So he decided to insert his fingers, to know her situation, according to him,” he said.

Man sells his own baby to herbalist for N300,000(Pictured)
A middle-aged palm tree harvester, George Maduabuchi, from Owerrinta in the Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State is in the police net for allegedly selling his 14-month-old son for N300,000.
According to Punch, the father of four was said to have connived with another suspect, Obinna Erondu, now at large, to perpetrate the act.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joshak Habila, who paraded the suspect along with other suspected criminals on Thursday, said,
“Luck ran out on Maduabuchi when the wife alerted the police on his questionable role when the baby fell ill and he took him out and did not return with him.”
But the suspect told our correspondent that he did not sell his son, but only took him to a herbalist when he took ill.
He said, “The herbalist gave me money and told me that he could not heal the baby. I therefore left the baby in the herbalist’s home.”
But his explanation was countered by his wife, Eberechi, who said he took their son, who had a cough to the said herbalist, but instead of returning with the baby, rather came back with bundles of money.
She said, “When I demanded explanations on the whereabouts of our son, he could not offer any convincing answer.”
The wife, who is also pregnant, said she raised the alarm, which attracted neighbours who helped to arrest the husband.
The neighbours subsequently alerted the police, who picked up the husband and later led the police to the herbalist’s house at Owerrinta where the boy was recovered.

APC blasts GEJ for distributing dollars to Lagosians during recent trip to Lagos
The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress through a statement released by its State Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe has condemned President Jonathan’s alleged open display of brazen impunity and financial recklessness during his five days visit to Lagos last week.
“While President Jonathan was busy dolling out cash to all and sundry in Lagos, the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, was busy in Kaduna replicating the same thing, without shame, without honour, without remorse,” the statement said.
“US Dollars and local currencies were dolled out by the president in millions to market leaders, town unions, traditional rulers, actors, artisans, transporters, government workers, private sectors, local chiefs, drivers and what have you without any modicum of respect to the exalted office he occupies. No wonder our foreign reserves has just been depleted by 1.6 Billion U.S. Dollars.
“Never in the history of this country has a sitting President displayed this kind of desperation and financial irresponsibility in a country that lacks basic infrastructure and common indices of human development. It is now crystal clear to Nigerians why PDP and President Jonathan shifted the February 14 presidential elections to March 28 2015.
“This is the money the president would have used to create jobs for millions of young jobless Nigerians. This is the millions that would have been used to rebuild our decayed and moribund universities. This money would have been used to rebuild our teaching hospitals to become centers of excellence. This money would have been used effectively deal with the nation’s security challenges. Government does not share money to individuals but use such money to provide basic amenities for all and sundry.
“Funny individuals, scammers, 419ers and people with questionable characters besieged the Presidential Lounge Marina Lagos to collect their own largesse. Those who do not deserve even half a Penny lined up to deceive the President. It was like a carnival or open market attended 21stCentury fools and nonentities.
“President Jonathan may have come to Lagos and gone but his visit left a sour taste of how the exalted office of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was debased, decimated and ridiculed further in the name of playing money politics.
“Lagos APC is yet to see how this unprecedented waste of public funds across the country will translate to votes in March 28 2015when Nigerians will take stock of President Jonathan’s six years in office. This election is all about giving accounts of six years of stewardship, and nothing more.”
