Inspiring!! From A Poor Boy In Mushin To President Buhari's Official Photographer

Written By Chukwudi Iwuchukwu;
Meet Bayo Omoboriowo; President Buhari Official Photographer And Guess What? He Is Just 28.For many Nigerians on social media, we always admire the beautiful pictures of our new President, Muhammed Buhari. We admire the elegance and the story the pictures portray, we salute the aesthetics behind the image but not many know that the guy behind it all is Bayo Omoboriowo the official photographer of the president and amazingly, he is just 28.
When I met Bayo for the First time February 14 this year at Buhari Valentine dinner here in Lagos, I did not know who he was, he was dressed in an impeccable manner, with suit and tie and then was carrying his camera like a baby

I thought he was just one of those "I just came back to Nigeria" guys who like over dressing with their camera not until he told me to stand for him to take a snap shot of me, I did and after the shoot, we got talking, when he mentioned his name, I remembered I had read his interview 3 years back, an Interview he did with Bella Naija talking about his passion for photography, his dreams and where he want to be in the years to come using the instrument of his camera. My respect for him grew higher that moment and I told myself: "Indeed Dreams come true"

Bayo Omoboriowo was born without silver spoon, he tasted poverty, experienced the low esteem Poverty inflicts on its victims but never allowed his past to define him, he decided to change his story and that he has successfully been able to do looking at what he has done for himself within a space of 6 years

He took his destiny by his hand, discovered his passion which was photography, refined and turned it to a business and income making project

One thing you have to give to this young man is this, he never allowed the distraction that being a youth bring to distract him from his focus , he graduated from University Of Lagos in 2009 and since then he has only been doing one thing, Photography and today, he is the official photographer of our dear President

Bayo is one of the 20 man delegation that followed Buhari to Germany On Sunday , seeing his name on that list brought smile to my face, this shows how far he has gone and where God has taken him to. I could not have been prouder of my generation and the envelop we are pushing, the stories we are changing and the boundaries we are taking in spite of the difficulties of being a Young Nigerian

Bayo's life is teaching young people what is possible and doable, , a man born in poverty at Mushin Lagos 28 years ago is flying with the President all over the world today because of his passion and determination to give meaning to his life, what then is your excuse?

Life is too short to just waste on unnecessary gallivanting. Discover your passion, key into it and start now. You don’t need capital to start, you just need few people who believe in your passion and would do anything to see it come to fruition. Your network determines your net worth; those friends around you have a lot to do with your tomorrow, more than you know.

Bayo's of this world are passing a compelling message to young people to leave every other thing that is distracting them and run with their dreams. Lives and destinies are tied to that dream and that is the more reason you need to take that bold step and believe in your ability to do it

Again let me emphasize, Bayo started from the bottom, he started with zero capital. he had nothing except his incredible belief in God and the dream he has and nothing more

I wish you all the best in this journey and hope to celebrate your journey tomorrow

Must Read: President Buhari Indeed Belongs To Somebody

“I belong to everybody. And I belong to nobody”- President Muhammed Buhari.

The above quotation is one the quotable quotes from the inaugural speech of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Eagle Square, Abuja during his swearing in. Since the quotation went viral, there have been several misconceptions or misinterpretation of the quotation. Precisely, many social commentators are still trying to decode its true meaning.

If viewed from the context of trying to establish his independence in taking vital decisions in the proper administration of the country and not just trying to play politics with the destiny of the nation, Buhari may well be right. It will be recalled that his first shot at the seat of power came through the barrels of guns as a military dictator in 1984. He is not entirely new to the seat of government. But this is his first as a democratically elected President and Commander -in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces. And that is why he is trying to make populist statements like the one credited to him above.
But does the President actually belong to nobody?
No, we beg to disagree. In actual fact, President Buhari belongs to somebody or a group of bodies. Apart from God the Almighty who created him and grants him long life coupled with good health to cope with the stress of the electioneering and also protected him from the bombs of some alleged assassins that reportedly claimed lives of some of his bodyguards in Kaduna as soon as he emerged as the presidential torch-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Buhari belongs to the party that gave him the platform to run for the presidential election and in particular to the chieftains of the party. If the statement is meant to serve as a notice to checkmate them on the overbearing posture that some of them may intend to take that can hinder the dramatic and pragmatic changes that he plans to bring to bear in the governance of the country, he may be right. But as stakeholders in the project leading to his election as the President, Buhari cannot completely rule out the party’s influences on some of his policies. This is because, the electorate and the new opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, will hold him (the President) and his party (the APC) jointly accountable for the fulfilment or otherwise of their campaign promises. So, the President belongs to his party as his primary constituency and to some extent accountable to the party’s leadership. The President himself too knows that he owes his party leadership the courtesy of consulting them before making crucial political appointments or policy statements. The Presidency and the party leadership may not always agree, but it is the duty of Mr. President to carry his party along, otherwise there may be cracks in the system.
Secondly, the President belongs to his friends/loyalists and voters who voted for him and ensured that their votes counted. A majority of these sets of people may not be card-carrying members of the APC. Some of them were protest or sympathy voters who swigged their votes in favour of the APC in response to the hate campaigns mounted against Buhari by the supporters of the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan. And so he belongs to them. He is accountable to them in order to keep their hope alive that the moment for positive change has indeed come. This is the time for action and not just for rhetoric and business as usual that Nigerians are tired of.
And to underscore the fact that the President belongs to somebody especially his kinsmen, the North is reportedly insisting on occupying the sensitive positions of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the National Security Adviser and the Chief of Staff and that may be one of the main reasons why such appointments have not been made. With that statement, Mr. President intends that everybody will have a sense of belonging in his administration. But in reality, this may not be feasible, if the body language of the Northerners is anything to go by.

“The flies breed in fast-flowing streams and rivers, increasing the risk of blindness to individuals living nearby, hence the commonly known name of `river blindness’.
“Within the human body, the adult female worm (macrofilaria) produces thousands of baby or larval worms (microfilariae) which migrate in the skin and the eye.
“The death of microfilariae is very toxic to the skin and the eye, producing terrible itching and various eye manifestations (lesions)
“After repeated years of exposure, these lesions may lead to irreversible blindness and disfigurative skin diseases sometimes named “leopard” skin and `lizard skin’,’’ she said. (NAN)

See Some Untold Health Risk of Waist Training

We do it for the glamour, we do it for the attention, we do it for the selfies and we do it to get an hour glass figure, but unfortunately our health is paying the price for it. We totally understand the struggle with weight loss; it could be downright difficult. Lowering your calorie intakes, reading nutrition labels for deceptive ingredients, exercising, yet when you look into the mirror, you see no improvement.  So of course, when we hear you can actually loose stomach fat and have an hour glass figure without changing your lifestyle by simply wearing a piece of cloth, your natural instinct would be to jump at it. Though it sounds too good to be true, that’s the basis for the newest trend in weight loss called waist training.

For a long time, women have always worn tight undergarments to contour their bodies for a desired, shapely appearance. It recently exploded into popularity after popular celebrities attributed their toned body to its consistent use. This has caused a high demand in latex and non-latex corsets to attain an unnatural hourglass figure.

This practice involves wearing a corset-like device for hours at a time to compress your core, which is supposed to decrease the size of your waist over time. The hope is that the body will maintain that shape and inches will be lost, creating a leaner and slimmer appearance. However, there is no evidence to show that this change will remain permanent without wearing the garment. There is also the theory that the stomach will be squeezed into a smaller shape, causing to become less hungry and reduce your calorie intake. There is no clinical proof that this is effective or beneficial to a woman, and in fact, it may be harmful to a woman’s body over time.
According to health experts, when you wear a corset, it doesn’t just squeeze you on the outside to look thin, it is also squeezes your internal organs. This pressure on the internal organs causes serious health concerns. If the lungs are prevented from properly expanding, it can increase the risk of pneumonia. As the stomach and colon are prevented from moving its contents, heartburn and chronic constipation can occur. Forcing the ribs and muscles into a tight and restrictive garment can cause chronic pain and bruising. The corset can also prevent the return of blood flow to the heart, which can affect blood pressure and may result in dizziness and even fainting.

While some people can get away with wearing the waist trainer without any real harm done, for a real, long-term weight-loss plan, you must think otherwise. It has not been medically proven that cinching your waist tightly will make it permanently smaller. Once you take the garment off, your body will return to its usual shape. It's also uncomfortable, restricts your movements, and if you wear it really tight, it can even make it difficult to breathe and could cause rib damage. Also, wearing a waist-cinching device for a workout isn’t a good idea either, especially if it restricts your mobility or your ability to take full, deep breaths. It can really affect your ability to work hard.

Dr. Caroline Apovian, a professor of medicine says that waist trainers won’t have any lasting effect on waist size, shape, or appearance. They’ll make you look slimmer while you wear them, but you may have to put up with some discomfort and maybe even some health risks in return. Not that waist training is completely bad, moderation is key.  If you’re going out and want to look really thin, there is no problem wearing a waist training corset. It may even help boost your confidence and encourage you to exercise and eat healthy. But if you are looking for something permanent, waist training is not the way to go.

What you need to do to shed calories around your belly is to eat healthy and exercise on a regular basis.Twist crunches, skipping, jogging  can help define those stomach muscles and to really lose inches around your waist. It's not trendy, but it's the one thing that works, whether you want to drop baby weight or just a few stubborn fat. There is no cheating or quick fix to fitness. What’s important to remember is that there is no perfect body, but there is a healthy body for each one of us.

Tinubu is a local champion - Bode George

Chief Bode George has taken a swipe at APC Leader, Bola Tinubu after Bukola Saraki's emergence as the Senate President..The former deputy chairman of the PDP who also promised to go on exile when Buhari became president says Tinubu has five minutes to the end of his political career.Speaking to Punch from London,he said

The APC would discipline Saraki? Is Saraki a child? They probably think they are playing local politics like the one they play in Lagos State. I welcome them to the real world,” he said.
“You know I predicted weeks ago that the APC is just a congregation of strange bedfellows. The most beautiful thing about what has happened is that Bola Tinubu’s political influence in Nigeria is coming to a sunset and it is about five minutes to midnight for him.
“If he cannot see this now, then it will be foolish of him. He brought in the APC national chairman and the vice-president and he thinks Nigeria belongs to him.
So, he thought what he did in Lagos was what he could replicate at the national level and they have shown him that he cannot continue to be the lord of the manor.
“So, if he is wise, he will slow down. President Muhammadu Buhari, as an army general, has fought more battles than him and has an understanding of things.”
The PDP was never dead. We were only given a bloodied nose, not a technical knockout. So, this is an opportunity to start regrouping and getting ready for 2019. I want to salute the dexterity and perfect political manoeuvres for which the PDP is well known.
“People like Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande in Osun have always been local champions. Now, they have come to the national level of politics and they are now learning the tricks that all that glitters is not gold.“I congratulate Saraki and Ekweremadu. They understand what Nigeria is all about.”

Secondary school girl brings her entire family to beat up teacher (PHOTOS)

A student of Ozar secondary school, Asa in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State, who was sent home by one of her teachers, Mrs Njoku on Monday to cut her hair, returned with her mother and elder siblings to attack teachers and students .

The JSS 2 student, Precious Nwadike, had earlier been warned by same teacher two weeks ago to barb her hair but she did not heed to the warning.

Thus, on arrival to school on Monday, the student was asked to go home and barb her hair. She left immediately, only to return two hours later with her mother and four of her siblings who marched straight to the staff room and commanded the teachers to come out.

The mother, Mrs Nwadike held the teacher, pulled her cloth and ordered the sons to cut her hair.

The intervention of another teacher, Mrs Osuagwu provoked the sons and one of them, Uche almost strangled her.

A youth corp member serving in the school who pleaded anonymity had to alert the military personnel. Their quick arrival at the school calmed the situation and doused the tension.

Mrs Nwadike and children were arrested and detained at the Obehie police station, in Asa.

The Principal of the school Mrs F.N Nwachukwu, took the wounded students and teachers to obehie Health Center for treatment.

Woman tortured for stealing iPad writes police commissioner

Karamat Eleha, a trader at the Balogun Market, Lagos State, who was tortured by four policemen, has petitioned the state Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, to get justice for her.

Eleha, in the letter dated June 2, 2015, and made available to PUNCH Metro, urged the commissioner to investigate the assault and sanction the cops accordingly. She said she could identify her tormentors.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, had said “there was no issue of torture.”

But the petition read in part, “On May 14, 2015, One Shola Ogunbayo, one Kemi (Iya Ibeji) and I were arrested by men from SARS, Ikeja, on the allegation that a tracker revealed that one iPad that was stolen from a woman in Ajah was in our building in Idumagbo. We were subsequently taken to SARS, Ikeja and detained.
I was subjected to extreme torture, degrading and inhuman treatment after I was stripped naked. As a result, severe injuries were inflicted on my back and buttocks by the policemen.
“I hold the view that the action of these policemen was reckless, high-handed and oppressive. It is repressive to the extreme and shows a total disregard for the standard set up by the law and the office of the Inspector General of Police. I implore you to use your good offices to order an immediate and thorough investigation into this matter and mete necessary sanction to serve as a deterrent to others. I can identify all of them if seen.”
