40-year-old man has been arrested for raping and impregnating a 16-year-old mentally deranged girl.
The suspect, Abdulhamid Abass was apprehended by the operatives of the Jigawa state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC).
According to NSCDC, the mentally challenged teenager had given birth to twin girls in her parents house.
The suspect, a resident of Mijirgan village of Miga LGA of Jigawa state, has however not admitted to committing the crime.
The commandant of the NSCDC in Jigawa, Gidado Muhammad told journalists that the man had been arrested for impregnating an insane woman. He added that the case is under investigation.
