Many feared dead as twin blast hit the Global System (GSM) market in Potiskum, Yobe state on Sunday afternoon.
According to witnesses, the two female suicide bombers on tricycle came to the market. As one alighted and went inside the market, the other remained in the tricycle as the two explosives went off simultaneously.
They were so powerful that several buildings collapsed in the immediate vicinity of the explosions.
An eye witness told Channels TV;
"I can confirm to you that the situation at the moment is tense up after the twin blast went off around 3:15pm this afternoon and rescue operation is still going on and no one can tell you the casualty figure. It's so sad that we keep hearing this on daily basis."
Number of casualty is currently unknown. Details to come.....
