PMB Orders Security Agencies To Save Nollywood From Piracy

President Muhammudu Buhari, has declared war on Nigerian movie pirates after he ordered law enforcement agencies in the country to up their game in tackling the menace called movie piracy.

After a briefing from the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Information, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan and her directors in Aso Rock Villa, Buhari denounced pirates who he said wants to reap what they did not sow.
He said: “Nollywood is making progress. We should work with them. Unless they are backed, they will be ruined by pirates who want to reap where they have not sowed.
“They have built an industry with their own sweat. It is, therefore, incumbent on us to give them the necessary support.”
Buhari said the main players of copyright piracy, their sponsors and collaborators must be prosecuted, tried and brought to justice.
The president also asked the Nigeria Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria to use their wide reach to ensure they generate funds that will make them self sufficient.
