A woman was arrested on a charge of fraud after refusing to pay her restaurant bill, saying that Jesus will pay it, police in South Carolina said.
Myrtle Beach police said that they arrested 51-year-old April Lee Yates, after she refused to pay her bill at the Bennetts Calabash restaurant around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the police investigation, managers at the restaurant told Yates to leave, but she refused to do so. Yates was in the restaurant for nearly four hours before she began disturbing other diners.
Yates was asked to pay her $26 bill and leave, but she refused. Police officers who arrived at the scene, asked Yates if she had any money.
When Yates said that she did not, the officers asked her how she planned to pay her bill. Yates explained that Jesus was going to pay her bill.
Yates was arrested for defrauding a restaurant and booked into the Myrtle Beach jail.
