Boko Haram: Adamawa Warns Against False Alarm


Adamawa Government has cautioned the public against rumours capable of raising tension in the state.

A statement by Mr Maxwell Dukku, the Press Secretary to the Governor, said government attention had been drawn to rumours making round that part of the Yola was under attack.

"This is mere false alarm and unfounded. The government appeals to all citizens to remain calm and go about their legitimate activities."

"Government and the security agents are doing everything possible to ensure peace and safety of all and sundry in the state," the statement said.

Meanwhile, the state government also reviewed the initial 11:00pm - 5:00pm curfew in the state to 9:00pm - 5:00am.

A statement my Secretary to the state Government, Mr Ibrahim Welya, said the development was due to the current security situation in the state.
