Prosecutors have filed for an appeal against the verdict of culpable homicide against Oscar Pistorius and the five year jail sentence he received.
"Today we announce that the NPA filed the application for leave to appeal both the conviction and sentence" The National Prosecutors Authorities said in a statement.
The Olympic and paralympic athlete killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp after shooting through a locked door four times in the early hours of Valentine's day in 2013.
