I slept on bare floor for 4 days –Falae narrates his ordeal with kidnappers

AFTER over 72 hours in captivity, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae, on Thursday, regained his freedom.
Falae was handed over to his family by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, who was in company with the Assistant Inspector General of Police for the zone, Mrs Kalafite Adeyemi and the state Police Commissioner, Mike Ogbodu, after he was rescued from his abductors.

Falae,  who looked frail and weary, was said to have explained that he slept on bare floor for four days during his stay in the kidnappers’ den.

While recounting his experience, Falae told some government officials who visited his home, including the state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, that the kidnappers felt insulted over the N2 million the family promised as ransom, saying they rejected it and told him that “is it Boko Haram you are giving N2 million to?”

Falae was ushered into his residence by jubilant Akure residents, including friends, family, associates and people of Ilu Abo town, hailing the security operatives for securing the release of the former finance minister.
