World's 50 Most Influential Persons; Aliko Dangote Made The List

Nigerian business mogul Aliko Dangote has been named among the 50 Most Influential People in the World by Bloomberg Markets.

The multi-billionaire was ranked 41st, with Bloomberg describing him thus: “Africa’s most successful businessman built his fortune in sugar, textiles, and cement in his native Nigeria, where today he’s a political as well as a financial power broker. He’s expanding in other countries and may list his cement company in London.”
Bloomberg had described the top 50 saying: “They build companies and assemble fortunes. They
run banks, or hope to disrupt them. They shape economies and spread ideas. They manage money and wield the clout that goes with the billions of dollars they invest. The 50 people in our fifth annual Most Influential ranking are a varied group but have in common extraordinary success in their chosen fields.”
Hence, some names on the list are not a big surprise, with Chinese president Xi Jinping at 2nd and Apple CEO Tim Cook coming in at 3rd.
