Ben Murray-Bruce Denies Using Government Money To Start Silverbird

Silverbird Group chairman Ben Murray-Bruce has spoken about the company’s history as they celebrate their 35th anniversary.

Murray-Bruce, who currently represents the Bayelsa East constituency at the Senate, revealed that the company started with a loan he received from a father in 1980.

“I founded Silverbird in 1980 with a N20k loan from my father and on November 21st, we will be celebrating 35 years. Thank you Nigeria!” he said.
“Silverbird is evidence you don’t need to steal to make it in Nigeria. If anyone has evidence (not innuendo) that I stole, please publish it,” he said.
An official celebration of the milestone is expected to hold later this month, with President Muhammad Buharireportedly in attendance.
