Boko Haram Takes Over Military Base In Borno


Members of Boko Haram sect have reportedly seized Baga town and a military base used by a multinational force to fight the terror group in Baga town in Borno state.
According to BBC Africa,  Senator Ali Ndume who represents Borno North at the National Assembly said the sect members captured the town after attacking the residents yesterday Saturday January 3rd and that Nigerian troops fled the scene during the attack. Residents of the community who fled by boat to neighboring Chad, said many people were killed and the town set ablaze. 
The base is used by the Multinational Joint Task Force(MNJTF) which was established in 1998 and is made up of troops from Nigeria as well as Niger and Chad
