Cholera outbreak has hit some communities in Andoni LGA of Rivers state.

According to reports, 171 cases of the ailment have been recorded with 20 deaths. This was confirmed by the state Commissioner for Health, Sampson Parker.

Parker said the Andoni Local Government Area Rapid Response Team alongside the state Emergency Response Team have responded swiftly to curb the spread of the ailment. He also said that two treatment centers had been established to manage the cases, urging the people to access the facilities.

“So far we have recorded over a hundred and seventy casualties cut across ten communities with about twenty mortality and we pray that, that should be the end of mortalities among them.
“I will say the outbreak is under control now. All we need to do now is to continue to treat the affected ones and avert further occurrences. We will continue to deploy our facilities and we have quickly made provisions for portable water for the communities affected”

  1. We need divine intervention oh Lord! We are mightily helped of God in this matter. In a country where you fend for yourself without government help.
